But that wAs 40+ years ago (late 70's 😂 ) and it was the cheap stuff, so watching your review has given me courage to crack that baby open

I bought a 1.75 for 19$ in hopes of saving money. My go to is dickel. Black cap which is wonderful. This hunter when u smell it almost smells like rubbing alcohol thats caramel colored with no oak barrel hints or vanilla hints at all. Havent drank it yet but side by side Dickel is farrrrrr superior.

In blind taste tests when mixed with ginger ale, Canadian Hunter is picked every time when put up against Crown Royal. I wouldn't drink it straight up, but for the price and mixed it's tough to beat.

I buy this Whiskey at the duty free in the airport in Canada for my friends in Europe. They seem to prefer it more than Jack Daniels, they like its smoothness and its lack of harshness in terms of a hang over. They really seem to enjoy its uniqueness and its not too expensive as well.

All Canadian rye whiskeys up to and including 12 year olds are best drunk mixed with pop (coke, ginger ale, 7up). Once you get into 18 year olds then they are worth drinking neat.

For me drinking Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey is my favorite liquor and I was playing around with complementary things to eat with it and I found that for me I love vanilla wafers while drinking whiskey to me complement each other and this liquor here with the banana flavor makes me think that it might be good with the banana flavor. If you had maybe some vanilla extract mixed in with the liquor, it might turn it into a playful drink similar to banana pudding or banana cream pie. Definitely some good options here for creating and mixing.

I have not had this release, but I enjoy the Bushmills 10 year Causeway that is finished in Cognac casks. If I see it, I'll likely pick it up. Thanks for sharing!

Benchmark Small Batch is also great - scores higher than Single Barrel in a lot of blinds - has the same grape/blackberry jelly notes that BT has for half the price.
