Just compare the Celebrimbor in this game to the one in the Rings of Power lol. They got the casting so horribly wrong in that show.

I love the way they wrote Celebrimbor wielding the One Ring. They got to have their cake and eat it too, since only Sauron is supposed to be able to use the ring for things other than invisibility. But given Celebrimbor is the only other crafter of rings of power (besides maybe Saruman?), it's logical that he'd be able to control a ring of power, even the One Ring, to a far greater extent than the average person, since he understands what makes them tick. But the SECOND he tries to use the One Ring on Sauron, it yeets itself off his hand and returns to its true master. Celebrimbor may have been several leagues above most Ring Bearers, but he was nothing compared to the true Lord of the Rings.

This explains why celebrimbor betrayed talion it is because Celebrimbor saw Sauron as a friend and then Sauron Betrayed celebrimbor but celebrimbor still saw him as a friend and then sauron betrayed him again but still Celebrimbor saw him as a friend and Put the example of Celebrimbor as sauron and Talion as celebrimbor but Talion's biggest friend the wrath Ring maker betrayal was diff this time except Sauron and Celebrimbor but celebrimbor was still same but for talion he changed like ALOT ALOT he just fell and he got dominated by witch king successfully and he became the nine just to get revenge on Celebrimbor But still Talion whose speaking to himself or witch king still misses celebrimbor of how talion saw him as a friend

The reason why Celembrimbor betrayed Talion was because he was corrupted by One Ring to the point of no return. When he crafted his own Ring, he pretty much became another Sauron, and didn't care about anything or anyone besides his quest to build an army and overthrow Sauron, so his betrayal was inevitable (unless Talion would've went through with his plan, as Shelob saw it). Shadow of War took A LOT of liberties, but it got one thing right: you don't f0ck with One Ring unless you are it's rightful master (or a hobbit). Even the though of it can corrupt your mind and your spirit, which is what happened to Saruman, who, like Celebrimbor in this game, eventually have turned into all but Sauron's carbon copy.
