Hey I’m 6ft 230lbs beginner. I have a size 9 1/2 hand. Not sure where to go or what to look for in a good all around glove. Or how heavy/ big I should go. Price doesn’t matter too much, as long as the gloves protect the hands.

I am currently on both Venum Elite gloves for bag (14oz) and for group boxing training / sparring (16oz). I am looking to upgrade my 16oz for a premium one. I have very small hands and tiny wrists but I weight around 200 pounds (old gym rat going into boxing). For example I don't have fingers long enough to parry with my Venum's. I am also a bit fragile on the right wrist (broke my hand 2 times when I was young and stupid, nothing to do with boxing). Considering that I found the wrist technology of Rivals really interesting (even though I use wraps). This is why, after some research, I found some gloves (all velcros) that I cannot really try before but could be a good fit : Hit N Move balance (300€ very high review on fit2box), RFX Velco P4P guerrero (300€), Hook and Loop Cleto Reyes (300€), Phenom 210 (180€ and adidas tilt 350 (99€ also very high review on fit 2 box). Do not hesitate to give me advices or other gloves that may be more interesting but not higher Price than 300€ (Winning would cost 500 with shipping).

Rival RS100s all the way then, I'm trying them now and they are my new favourite sparring gloves, they are laceups but get a lace to loop converter and you'll be set. Plus they just brought out a smaller version I believe Great for smaller hands, good wrist for and extremely protective. You won't regret it!

Can u spar with 10 oz?
@fightingspirit93
@fightingspirit93 20 күн бұрын
You can... BUT you shouldn't! I will say that there are absolutely 10oz gloves out there that would arguably more protective than 16oz due to the amount of knuckle padding etc. But in 99% of cases, do not spar on 10oz unless your a child... or you and your partner are VERY experienced and are just touch sparring. Too many unnecessary risks. 🙏🙏

Nobody said they ever in the top... They are terrible gloves. They soak in sweat, deform, with marginal wrist support that is likely less than it's equal price competition, and only may be comprable to major retailers' gloves. Nothing special. Nothing worth 150-200 usd. It definitely feels nice the first time you try it, first 90 days arnt too bad. They do come stiff but with daily use even with proper or above average care. They will deteriorate quickly. Instead of the outside padding getting broken in first it was the inner padding that gave up
@fightingspirit93
@fightingspirit93 Ай бұрын
In the top? Good feedback regardless bud! I do agree the breathability isn't great when wearing them but like most gloves they should last if you take good care of them and have a 2nd pair to cycle between, although I really don't like the thumb padding, a really gross material option in my opinion. 🤣 The wrist support IMO is absolutely better than 95% of other boxing gloves out there, when you have the combo of the double wrist wrap and splint, it does a much better job at keep the wrist stable. I totally agree that the padding is the T3 weakest part, it's very stiff and doesn't feel like it would break in for quite some time.

I bought Twins gloves in 2012 and Hayabusa Ikusa gloves in 2013, followed by a bunch of other gloves like Fairtex, Reyes, and Ringside. Anyway, my Hayabusa Ikusa 16 oz gloves have always been convenient for quick training sessions, but they’re worn out now. I regret not buying leather gloves before because the synthetic ones always had a horrible smell. Now, I’m considering getting a new pair, but I’m wondering if I should go for leather this time to avoid the same issue."
@fightingspirit93
@fightingspirit93 Ай бұрын
It just depends on the quality of synthetic, for example most rival gloves are synthetic and don't have that smell at all. I also adore the Adidas 350 speedtilts which use cactus leather. Some leathers also suffer from that bad smell mostly due to the chemicals used to treat and dye the leather.

I agree with what Vazquez said. I made the mistake of purchasing the cheapest gloves you could find on amazon. my hands paid the price for my mistake. Bruised and cut all over for months. I had to purchase better gloves because it's painful to try and box with swollen and cut fingers. The more you box the wider the cuts get. Save up and get atleast 100$+ gloves to protect your hands better. Everlast makes decent midgrade gloves.
