I am confused. I can’t make this album fit. I’ve always been told album measurements are width by height. I cut the chipboard per your instructions. If I go width by height the spine is obviously wrong. Are your measurements for the cover height by width? Then I cut the pocket pages and they don’t seem to fit either direction. Neither do the measurements for flaps and pocket. Some flaps are 9”. They don’t fit either direction. What am I looking at wrong? I’ve all ready wasted a lot of chipboard and card stock. I don’t want to waste anymore. I love the album.
@thepaperprincess4828 Жыл бұрын
This book is 9 1/2 high by 8 1/2 wide. They walkthrough video has all the measurements on the cut list under description. The videos also give step by step instructions on how the fold and make the pages. I hope that helps. Although I’d love for you to have fun making this album, I don’t want you to waist supplies or get frustrated. It is up to you about how long you want to attempt making the base. Do you have a friend who has made albums before that you could ask? Let me know how it goes.
@thepaperprincess4828 Жыл бұрын
One more suggestion I could give because I really want this to work out for you is to watch the instruction videos for the first page first so you can see how the pockets are laid down. If the problem is with the hinge, I am unable to show that on camera because I don’t have a license to teach it but there are how to videos on KZbin from people who do have the license.
@sandeeq2002 Жыл бұрын
@@thepaperprincess4828 ok, I understand your measurements are opposite of usual. I can make another cover. I am cutting from your list. I am hoping your entire list is height x width, not mixed with the opposite. I didn’t even think about them going the other way until I tried to put the album cover together. I will save this cover for another project. I know how to make the hidden hinges and I totally understand about your restrictions on teaching. I don’t find an actual tutorial on the Fairie Wings. Just a great walk through and your cutting list. I know this is from a long time ago. I have many G45 kits I am just now getting around to making. I love your interactive pages. I’m fairly new to album making but I like the busy pages.

Very nice album, beautiful ideas, I did one savannah mini album, and also tried to save the gorgeous pictures by placing fold outs and flaps like you did. Also you can do a pocket by cutting one page, glue the top piece down and fix the rest of page as pocket, with the picture part outside. So you have the undisturbed full page, with pocket. I am writing from Germany and I am looking forward to seeing your next beautiful album. Take care, Marika

Possibly a silly question, but how do you put pictures into this album, glue or photo corners or another way? I think I will find it hard to cover this beautiful book with pictures!
@thepaperprincess4828 Жыл бұрын
You can use a tape runner or photo corners. I agree, it is hard to cover such nice paper. I would put smaller pictures on the design paper and use the pockets to put photos on the photo mats and booklets. You can make more than I show, there’s plenty of room. Have fun with it!

When you add pages to your albums, do you put them about 1/4” higher than the base for easier turning. I couldn’t find where you added your pages to this album (following Nature Notebook). Thanks.
@thepaperprincess48282 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. I am not able to show you on camera how to add the page because I do not have a license to demonstrate it but I make my hinges a 1/2” high with a 1/2” space between hinges. I set the page all the way down and it turns fine and stays on even with the bulky page because of the 1/2 inch. I also have Score tape on each side of the hinge and I add Art glitter glue on the hinge. I hope that helps. Let me know how your book comes out. Happy crafting :)

Do you have a store with the products you used. I'm particularly looking for the book binding tape. I think I missed the name. I saw a guy in Britain who uses a construction tape and also puts it around the edges of the board too. He says it keeps him from wrapping the book in paper and looks more professional. I think it looks great too, but I can't find his tape in the US. He gets it from a place called Cool Katz in Britain. But it makes the edges of the book look like your spine - so pretty and straight and strong.
@thepaperprincess48282 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question. I use book binding tape. I found it on Amazon. There are different widths. I use either 1.5” or 2”. I also use a mailing envelope under the spine. If you can’t find book binding tape, I believe duct tape would work.

I have a lot to say! First of all it’s like Christmas when you post a new walk through! So happy to see you! Secondly this album is very nice-interactive but not so difficult that it’s impossible to do. Love that about your minis. Third I absolutely love how you used the circle cut aparts. The staggered mat pulls look fantastic and every time you used one as a decorative element it looked awesome. Fourth my fave page is the giraffes and I love how on the flap pocket you only see the giraffe’s butt sticking out! Great mini! Will definitely be making this one but probably with different paper. Ok so I made my belly band 2x6, did the fun slide technique (love that so much!), then after I placed my third magnet on the belly band I just trimmed off the little bit extra. With the flap underneath, the belly band on top of the waterfall measures 4” and the whole waterfall is nice and snug! 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
