Such a great player. Who is coming up these days to carry on the tradition?

Willie's American Guitars is near my house in St. Paul, MN. If you're out this way it's worth making an appointment. Nate's the well qualified, over the top knowledgeable owner, very relaxed place that just happens to have all kinds of silly amazing vintage guitars and amps that you can actually try. Each time I'm in there it strikes me that virtually every guitar is something special, like there's a reason for it being in the assortment. Just a great place.

I’m glad to see that Bob is still making music. He made so many of us very happy with his sing-alongs at the old Pickwick’s Pub in the Valley.

I always loved Glen Buxton for his attitude and looks - he impersonated Alice Cooper to me more than Alice himself. Building on this affection, I attributed every guitar sequence I liked to Glen Buxton. Today - as a guitarist with limited skills - I know that most of what excited me about Alice Cooper was actually Michael Bruce playing. I still love Glen for who he was and as a guitarist but my perception of Michael Bruce has really changed for the better. He actually was the musical heart of Alice Cooper with his incredible timing for rock guitar riffs.

I'm so glad my best friends neighbor a guitar player introduced us to Rik Emmett. We were just 11 yrs old in 1982. Triumph was such a positive feel good band.

Charlie Starr is a monster guitar player, so beyond "good". I've been playing for 50 years, grew up with the influence of the greats... Hendrix, Clapton, Goudreau, Young, Van Halen, Beck, Gilmour, Haynes, Rossington, Felder, Walsh, Rice, Gill, Allman, Betts, Atkins... on and on.... and Charlie Starr deserves to be on the same stage as any of them. So versatile, so smooth.

It had been an item on my bucket list since childhood to buy a guitar from Willie’s, and in early 2021 I fulfilled it. Such a cool shop and Nate is such a nice guy.

Very nice, but since he's using a pick in addition to bare fingers, I wouldn't necessarily call it "fingerpicking."
