My process was similiar to yours trying to find a pair of clippers that had that hook at the end. Looked for an hour, tried a tonsil version (too thick) ended up getting a clipper at cvs lol. Worked like a champ! Great video btw

Nice humour! :) But this case is really for water/fire safety only and not for super-lock. And here is the main diffetence with the stationary one that in case of urgency you can take it with you. Or it may save the documents if you left it in a trouble place. Mobility and fire/water safety is the key function of it. This is more like a thing for a rainy day.

when you reach the end of the spool do you pull the wire thats left in it out or will the new wire push it on through?

Over the years I've had decent results from coating the terminals with Vaseline before reassembly. It helps prevent corrosion and ensures easy removal at a later time.

I feel better about the look of my welds now. 🙂
