Nice video thanks for sharing. What about putting tape on the inside of the twinset bands to stop galvanic corrosion?

Obviously, the first part is about the left hand tank even the video shows it on the right side of the man. And the second is about the right hand tank. Except if you place the first stages outside the valves ! I'd prefer to see the tanks in their right positions and the real hose routing, because my BC inflator is on my left side and so my drysuit on the right side.

Thank you very much, very good video! I just got my twinset back from a local shop and noticed that at the four places where nuts should be, one of them did not come with a washer - may I ask if that's a serious enough problem?

The Transpac XT package configuration which includes the 20lb weight pocket set seems to always come with the pockets vertical, at least in all those I've seen hanging in shops and online photos. Caveat: I had a problem with one pocket literally falling off the belt due to the single sewn in webbing loop failing - and this was during an at home pre-dive fit adjustment with no weights installed! While the pocket was replaced under warranty, I have no confidence in this single webbing loop holding any weights let alone up to 10lbs each. Another point, the vertical pocket configuration is quite loose and tends to slide around on the waist belt. Mounting the 20lb weight pocket set horizontally is much more stable and secure as you can run the waist belt through 2 webbing loops, plus lock in the pocket position as shown in this video.

how would you reccomend adding weights if you dove an LT with aluminum tanks?

Great video. I'm in the process of deciding to buy a wing for the Sidemount, I dive in cold waters in a dry suit and need 14kg (30lbs) of weight. This wing only holds 15lbs, where can I put another 15lbs?

Not the way I have done it for years. I put the mani together first. Put both tanks in the bands loose, spin the mani and valve on one tank and tighten with strap wrench, move the other tank up and thread the tank on the valve. Tighten with strap wrench. Tighten bands and rotate isolator as needed. The isolator has fine threads and a real possibility is cross threading or one starting before the other. The tank valves are coarse threads and won't cross thread. This method does not need a perfectly flat surface and can be done by one person on the tailgate of a pickup truck or a picnic table. Adjust band height to match the backplate.

I still have and dive my original SS backplate I bought in 2000 including the original deluxe harness. The plate still has the old logo with the dive flag on the pole!!

Can you have both, NERD2 and Petrel 3, for redundancy?
@diverite8411 ай бұрын
Great question! You can have both, but one must be designated as the controller and the other will be a monitor.
