I am using colored Staedler fineliners for the outlines, I find them less harsh than the black one! Also, I add outline as I go, not necessarily before colouring. 🙂

The only paper i liked for drawing with markers was the moleskine sketchbook paper, i draw realistic portraits and do a lot of layering and most marker papers cant take that much layers even when they claim to do so (ive tried bristol smooth by strathmore, sakura paper etc) it would ALWAYS affect the end result and ruin the experience for me but moleskin can take so many layers since the paper is made of 25% cotton, and it has some unique characteristics i have not found in other marker papers (it does feather badly though crisp lines are impossible), for example you can lift the previous layer and create highlights by taking a lighter color and pressing it on the paper while applying pressure. Blending works really well too. However moleskine sketchbook paper only works well with copic markers or alcohol markers that release little amounts of ink, many copic alternatives release huge amounts of ink (like ohuhu) to make blending easier and the paper doesnt seem to do that well that type of marker...

Thank you for that! It makes sense, although I really like drawing in Moleskine sketchbook with other marker brands too..I guess I haven't tried Copics yet 🙂

Oh, just try on Amazon - Arrtx Oros brush markers sets, they have several, I have the 80 set and the skin tones set!

How is your sketch so neat?! Do you transfer it?

Thank you! Most of the time I do the sketch digitally on my iPad and then transfer it to the sketchbook. That way I can focus more on the coloring part. But if I decided to sketch directly then I tend to put very light lines until I figure out the final shape so that it’s not to visible in the end. And I use red lead so that it’s lighter and blends better than graphite with the markers!👍

Hello, I'm a new subscriber. I love your art style and the way you're able to color your illustration, they look like they're done digitally! I'm practicing every day in my sketchbook I have Copics, Ohuhu and Touch Twin Brush markers they all play well together. I love blending all kinds of markers. I'm a huge fan of Ohuhu and cannot wait until they make their markers open stock and refillable. Anyways love your art and content!

Welcome and hope you’ll enjoy the content ☺️ there’s more coming soon ✨ I am glad you like my art and content 👍 As for the markers, I haven’t tried the Touch markers yet I have no clue about them! I love Ohuhu too and own only a few Copics so they are pretty useless since I don’t have enough colors. Arrtx are my new addiction so we’ll see how they perform in the long run!☺️

@@InkyJarDesignStudio I binged watched most of your videos! I love watching your traditional process videos those are fun! I've heard many great things about the Arrtx markers I need to check them out. If you get a change to try the Touch Twin they are kind of up there in price but they're great quality and very comparable to Copic being also refillable and a huge color selection. Plus the refill ink comes in 20ml bottles for around $4.-$5.50 depends where. Anyways I just live more markers but I dipping my toes in watercolor too I also live your watercolor videos. Keep up the great work. 😎

Yeah they are! Well, I only used them once so far, I need to use them more to be able to rate them, but so far I really really like them! The coverage and blending are great and I like the color choice. I will make a new review after couple of months and I'll be able to say more about them.

Beautiful work! I love using copics, but the price is quite extreme. I look at the large collection you have, and can’t help but think “huh, that’s a used Toyota Aygo right there”.

Well, that would be true (perhaps) if these markers were Copics indeed :-) But, since they are Ohuhu brush markers, you could maybe buy light bulbs for Toyota Aygo with it ;-) Anyway, thank you! I am glad you like it :-)

@@InkyJarDesignStudio Haha nice - well then I'm double impressed... I haven't tried Ohuhu, but all other markers I've tried, I had a very hard time making blends like Copics - which you've managed quite nicely here! It's also very clean, whereas other markers tend to give a more dirty look. I'll attribute it to your skills rather than the brand of markers ^_^
