👍💪👌for this run, and for a good cause! Re your previous video you mentioned, I watched it and think it was wrong of the organisers to not allow you to continue to the end. What were you supposed to do? How were you supposed to get back to your car? I would have freaked out if it were me, a small woman left on my own in the middle of nowhere. They could have disqualified you, (so you didn't get a medal or a finisher's time) but allowed you to continue to the end (but not cross the finish line). Appreciate you handled the situation with grace, and no F word!

@@lydiagould3090 thanks Lydia for your comment! This was a tough run but the cause is big! Yep, the previous video you’re right, that would have been the ideal outcome if they let me unofficial finish if you would. Anyway it was a lesson learnt on my behalf & lucky I managed to get an Uber - the driver was the real hero of the day 😂 Thanks for watching.

Well done on that track session. I'm also thinking about how to build in some solid food, rather than just fueling on gels. As I'm doing my first full marathon in 2025. Would you fuel on jelly babies again, or try something different? Thanks 🙂
@reece.hopkins
@reece.hopkins 2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Yes I’ve fuelled a few times on jelly babies, haribo & foam sweets, they are easy to eat on the move & easy to carry, I don’t like doing loads of gels. I would certainly practice runs with sweets to see how you take to them personally. Good luck with your marathon! Train hard & enjoy the event.

@reece.hopkins I'll practice in my long runs, definitely. Partly so that I don't inhale things and cough/ choke on it! Thanks for your reply 🙂

Filming and talking whilst climbing the monster hill. Wow. Well done mate. I ran 3:27 and whilst it wasn't a PB, it was a character builder to not have walked those hills in the second half.

Haha thanks man! It was a hard multi task, slowed my pace down for that. 3:27 is still an an awesome time dude, you crushed it & you’re right, the hills were a test, I found slowing down on declines harder than some inclines to not blow the quads out too soon.

Well done on your PB. Thats a great time. I’ve entered for 2025 and I’d be well chuffed with that. Just one thing, by what metric do you work out that it’s the hardest marathon in the UK?

@@davidhodgson3901 thanks mate! Glad you’ve got it entered, train hard and work hills in to your training. Wasnt stating facts with the thumbnail, more my perspective but I bet it’s probably one of the hardest with the sheer number of hills and elevation
