Thanks for the update, i do like the way you've put the screening sure it will make a big difference especially during the colder months, reminds me of one of Vince's (Twisted koi). The bacteria maker sounds good hopefully you will update us on how you find it and is it going to be better than the ready mixed liquid's you can buy. Gwen 🧓

Hi great video with regards to the vari flow pump I was having the same problem every time the pump was turned off it would not start up fault code oe4 charged the pump from a 20,000 to a 30,000 no more problems 👍👍👍

For jump guards, I saw another KZbinr use clear floating shelves from Ikea, which have stainless mounting brackets! Looked like purpose built!

Alfagrog has a tendency to clog and when it does can be a nightmare to clean because of it’s weight and you lose too much bacteria! I drain my Alfagrog down totally once a week and pour a few buckets of pond water through it till it runs out totally clear! I find by doing that it doesn’t clog up!

Just a tip, the EA Dechlorinator works better when mounted vertically, otherwise the water does not pass through all the filter material and goes over the top!

My fish did not get on with the NT labs colour enhancer staple. They ate it, but they don't attack it like they do the probiotic. There are a lot of similar ingredients so God knows why, but switched back all the same. You can feed too much colour enhancer as well. It sent my tancho sanke a kind of off-blue tint.

The red acer do tend to be a bit more delicate and prone to leaf burn in wind or direct sun not as we're having much sun the only thing i can tell you is if it's in a place that gets wind try putting it in a more sheltered position. I have 5 Acer's and the red always suffer in bad weather, you got them at a very good price 👍. Great to see how things are going looking really good 😊. Gwen 🧓

Have you thought about putting a fine pond foam from a 3 stage foam set on top of the Alfagrog to catch more fines and get even clearer water ?

@@oliverskinner8962 hi mate yeah if you check my other videos I have done loads of different ways with it. I do put filter floss in there now and then but to be honest I never have bad water quality 👍🏼

Thank you mate for me the easy pod just never seemed to keep my water crystal clean now I’m back to my multi bay with a few custom modifications and my water it’s crystal clear all the time don’t get me wrong there’s more work involved but for me just seems to work better but that’s not to say it will be like that for every one just on my pond 👍🏼👍🏼

An Eazypod is fine for up to around 1000 gallons if not too heavily stocked with feeding of not much more than 100g a day but can struggle if you exceed these parameters and require frequent cleaning if you do! Also have found they can take quite a while for the media to mature! I run one on my quarantine tank (400 gallons) but run 2 multibays & a 4tier 1 m Bakki on my main pond which is 4250 gallons, and have gin clear water without the UV’s even running! The Eazypod is definitely much easier to clean but you have to accept their limitations! I would definitely run a Nexus 320, but as we are thinking of moving we’ve decided to wait, and if we do it’s likely to be 2 Nexus 320’s with auto kits on around 7-8000 gallons with Bakki, although we may add a second Bakki, not sure yet.
