Hey! I need your advice on how I wanna start my business! So im 12 and a half years old and in the 7th grade. My mom wants me to wait till I finish middle school to start my business wich would mean I will be 13 when im able to start. And i have a Poulon Pro PP19A42 Ride on tractor And a husquvarna Trimmer But no Trailer! what do you think I should do? Save money and buy a trailer or save up enough money till im 15 and get My temp permit so I can drive with a trailer? Thanks for being my mentor! I’ll always look up to you!
@NicslawnserviceLLC12 сағат бұрын
i just entered my second year in business, if i were you id wait till you are 15 so by that time you have saved a good amount of money and can get the things youll need to be efficient, obviously im sure youve done a few yards around the neighborhood so keep that client base as best as you can and then once you are 15 youll be "set" on the things youll need and the knowledge for the future

Love the work ethic for a 12 year old! I would just wait until you’re old enough to drive and to buy a trailer. You’ll be more reliable once you have secured a driver license. I started when I was 17. But if you have help from someone older who can do it with you then that’s a different story. Stay motivated young man and I wish you luck on your journey 💪🏻

Do you ever mow any overgrown properties or do you just stick in the nicer affluent areas
@LawnCareNinja22 сағат бұрын
We have weekly lawn customers. If I take on an overgrown lawn, I charge 3-4x the weekly quoted price and that really doesn't happen unless it's the springtime and people think they can get a cheap mowing for an overgrown lawn. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@LawnCareNinja totally understandable, it's a lot more wear and tear on your equipment. I'm a vet so I tend to help some elderly veterans that can't really afford to pay especially whenever the VA hasn't given back what the soldiers have earned during combat
@LawnCareNinja14 сағат бұрын
If I ever came across a vet or elderly person that was in such a need, I would totally do it for free. I don't see much of that in the area I mow and the yards that are really bad, you can tell a college kid lives there cos there's trash and beer cans and Solo cups all over the lawn with a BMW in the driveway.

For someone to buy off me or just how much it cost me? To buy it off me, it would be A LOT! The 48" was about $11K, the 32" was about $7K, the truck was about $32K and the trailer I got from the buy I bought part of the business for, so I got it cheap. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Is efficiency based on time per job?
@LawnCareNinja3 күн бұрын
Overall, it is based on revenue generated for the day per person vs. time clocked in. Of course, your time on each job matters still and so does your per man hour rate. The Efficiency Score is based on the former. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Nice man! Do you have any tips for a 17 year old getting started with a lawn care company in FL? Ive had 6 customers so far, but no weekly mowings. I have door hangers and business cards that i have yet to put out and I am also on Nextdoor, facebook and instagram constantly posting my work and advertising. Do you have any tips or words of advice for how I can accerelate my business? I plan on having a whole setup like yours with the ride-ons and everything. Thanks man
@LawnCareNinja7 күн бұрын
I interviewed Chris Hagerman of No Mow Worries and he went from like 10 customers to I think 40 in a very short period of time using Nextdoor. I would say that you need to have company policies in place such as pet waste/trash/toys fee's, get a CRM that will fit your needs (my first few years I used Yardbook and it is cheap and amazing and life changing!), don't go into debt, know your per man hour rate to ensure you are charging correctly for each job (I have a video about this with a spreadsheet I use to help me determine it all), be consistent about the days you mow and the quality of work you perform, get a Google Business profile and start asking for 5-star reviews. Thanks for watching and commenting! Here is the interview with Chris: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn6sZWhrhd6NfsU

What are good questions to ask a first client?
@LawnCareNinja13 күн бұрын
If you have not set eyes on the property, ask when the last time it was mowed. If it has been more than 1 week, I usually charge extra as it will take us a bit longer to do. Always get a credit card on file before you service their property. Ask if they have any pets and make sure they clean up any pet waste before you arrive so you don't step in it, hit with a trimmer or get it all over your wheels of the mower. Since you've used them for a while, how are you liking the x-blade system
@LawnCareNinja14 күн бұрын
I like it but my expectations were maybe too high. I was expecting grass to be like a mist, or VERY small clippings. Not really the case. It does cut and disperse clippings better, but it isn't some magic thing that mowers having been missing since their creation. I am excited to try them for leaf removals as I think they will shine really well in that application. Overall, I would still not recommend them for mowing (in my region) as it can be a little annoying to have to turn the mower down before you engage the blades and if you have to stop the blades every now and then to cross like mulch or rock or whatever, it's just annoying to do. Thanks for watching and commenting!
