That's awesome, I've already intuitively implemented a lot of these strats with my engineer by just playing the class. But building these spiral staircases was never something I've considered, and I'm definitely going to start using that. Getting overwhelmed by a swarm of bugs when playing Engi is very easy, you need impeccable movement or team mates covering your back. But with that staircase, the bugs have to crawl up to you while you have a very good angle to shoot them

this entire video felt like a fever dream

haz 4 is unbearably easy

you can build a super easy bunker if you have a driller on your team. drill five "chunks" beneath the objective, c4 the bottom of the hole (the objective should fall into the crater), then have the driller make a tunnel out (my driller buddy usually makes it straight out before turning back into a cave). then the engi just helps flatten out the bottom of the c4 crater and blocks off the top. my buddy and i can get one of these done in two minutes or sometimes less.

if you place a few platfroms in a line away from the wall you create an infinite corridor for bugs, as long as you keep hopping around they will be forced to crawl all the way around to the base of the one you are currently on. This is especially useful on dreadnoughts as they will usually dismiss my whole team to track me down from across the cave (it's like i have bugnip in my pockets).

Breach cutter is really good against the caretaker, being able to hit the weakspots from anywhere is a godsent if you are alone or your whole team is grouped up

I think that the rework to the turret ark in S5 works especially well with the platform tricks showcased in this video, as it allows you to weaponise the spiral even more when you shoot the platforms.

One of my favorite uses of Feedback Loop is 21112 with SMRT Trigger OS 21111, either use it in a horde and aim for their heads, the beam grows in power every second you use it, and every time you kill a bug you regain ammo, or use it quickly to set a big bug on fire, then aim the loki on a weakpoint that gets 40% increased damage since it applies electric on the first burst so you kill them in like 4 seconds

If y’all didn’t know, there’s a cheese strat for hacking pods involving the platforms. You basically dig the hacking pod down till even the little satellite dish is barely sticking out. Make sure that either the terrain has an outcropping above the pod or you can put a platform structure to hang a transmitter node upside down on it. When you have the connection, start filling up the hole, but there’s 2 things you must do. Press the button before finishing filling up, and don’t cover the satellite dish up. Just try to cover up the pod up to it. You should be able to ignore the pod and go to the next/get ready to fight the caretaker.

Taking RJ250 and all ammo upgrades for making schizophrenic platforms is my favorite engineer playstyle. Making people think "why the hell is there a platfofm there????" Is entertaining

I love the upgrade for the platform gun that makes enemies avoid platforms. Yes I lose out on a significant amount of ammo but in exchange I can control their pathfinding and concentrate the hordes into clumps of free kills.

The breach cutter with flame mod and LOK1 smart rifle with elecicity and bonus damage to fire and electricyted enemies is a pretty good one two punch (and lingering field to top it off) I suck at aiming it most of the time but when it works, it works.
