It's so stiff and slow-paced, I have no idea why they thought it should have delay on the jump. It feels more like a modern indie game such Volgarr the Viking than NES and SNES games.

Original hardware is a bit more responsive/ has less input delay.. the switch always adds a frame or 2 of lag.. Everything else like graphix/ sound is subjective..

Yeah it was release in America, kinda of shock they did not have the English subs BUT perhaps it save time to put English subtitles over the Japanese text lol. Or perhaps translation issues as was the cause of the day??

They used the Mega Drive (Japanese) ROMs for the game. I guess it was easier to overlay the english than modify the code. They are still great games though!

i think Hyperkin cable is just simple and it has way better compatablity :D cause it pulls the RGB scart signal from a ps1/ps2 system meaning u can get a signal on moden tvs :D

I’ve noticed that some of the reviewers that try to steer you to neither of these options make it seem like Hyperkin and POUND are different labels for the same insides, but that is not the case. POUND does have issues with colors on some Sega CD games. I’m aware of Rebel Assault being off for example. Does the POUND cable have the same wrong color issues with the 32x?

Also, I agree with you. The larger YTers speak in unison when it comes to what YOU should use to play your retro games. Use whatever is in your budget and works best for you.

But on the flip side, for using a retrotink with a Genesis, sounds like you need the component cables to make it work, which steers me away from maybe getting the retrotink 2 mini just because of that issue down the road because it only takes composite or S video.

They are. It’s generally a problem with lower prices cables. Hyperkin has the same issue but it doesn’t seem quite as bad.

I've been fairly involved with the Yakuza series. I remember when the first two came out for the Dreamcast. I never even considered the games back then. After playing the entire Yakuza series (not the spin-offs), I may go back and play Shenmue. I was originally a Nintendo kid, then Sega, back to Nintendo and then Sony. Eventually, I went back to Nintendo during the Switch era. Thanks for watching!

Me too, but those days are long gone. The fact that you need to download and install games makes digital more appealing to some. You can download the game and upon release, it is ready for you. No additional waiting required. You just never own the game.

It also sucks because you are forced to install the game and can’t play from the actual disk which takes up space on your harddrive so you can’t play with a full harddrive of games

Ive got the same kaico converter as in video. There is a switch to change from rgb to ycab (or whatever ya know what i mean😂 excuse my spelling😅) but ive noticed that when set to the rgb setting it flickers (atleast when using the mclassic too) the mclassic will barely do anything since that kaico converter upscales to 1080p i had to change tv settings for it to look decent with it... i also have a different kaico converter but it does nothing with the mclassic due to 480i. I probably wont get the 2xpro even though mclassic supprt recommended it 😂 for to me it didnt look any different and at times worse than kaico

I have always used the connector on component, but if you are having issues with the RGB switch, contact Kaico for support. The Retrotink (or clones) has one key advantage: set it up and it is good for all games. You can't take advantage of the 480p option if the game supports it, but it is a set and forget device. Also 480i games are compatible with the mClassic, as all games are now 480p. To be frank, I stopped using both of these devices now. I moved to a OSSC, also by Kaico: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZTPg3WCqZ6IeLM It can passthrough (sometimes line double) 480p and makes 480i look better.

It does a decent job. There are tons of options with the PS2, but unless you are willing to spend several hundreds of dollars, you have to pick your battles. I have an entire playlist of PS2 solutions, if you are interested: ow.ly/dkgA50AwfeO In short, there will (almost) always be some flicker with interlaced PS2 games, which is what the majority of the library uses. If you can force a 480p output, the picture quality will be considerably better.
