Legendary. Everybody covered this so much it became part of social lore. My favorite (aside from this) was the WWF wrestlers.

The lead singer shares that he just went with it when creating this song and turned Na na na na na, na na na na into one of the classics. Try it for yourself! Belting out NA's to a rhythm with a beat is like chanting.

That's just like when envogue redid Flowers by the emotions some people complained but that's the beauty of different voices when someone can take a song and make it their own if a person wanted to here Flowers by the emotions that's what they should listen to and not envogue.
@gin86162 жыл бұрын
I think Rhonda did a beautiful job it's just that when this song came out it was performed by envogue with Dawn on lead and that's what we fell in love with and that's what we're used to hearing. But is it fair to say Rhona don't sound good because she don't sound like Dawn no these are two different voices one belong to Dawn Robinson the other Rhona Bennett and both women are gifted vocalist.

it seems that some people that left comments below about Friankie Garcia you're not informed about the history of the group this is Frankie's group some band members have pass on and Frankie Garcia has pass on as well and we are keeping his Legacy alive and for the last 54 years that I've been in this group that's what I'm gonna keep on doing enjoy the music enjoy the memories nothing but good thoughts please. peace and love. I'm hip. It's nice that people are positive, but it should be with the right information so people can put credit in its proper place. I'd love to see more footage on Frankie and the Headhunters than the usual few. I was a kid in 1966 and even then, dug this song.

I think that the front man is one of the background singers from long ago. It isn't a difficult some to sing, but he is is not Frankie Garcia. Frankie just had this magic about him. Too bad he couldn't keep his hands off the nails.

"Sheila" by Tommy Roe was quite the tune too in 1962 Sheila! I was 7 in 1960 listening to that one hit wonder and it wreaks of puritanical innocency so missing today. BTW, as a lifelong singer I can mimic many singers as they WERE back then because I've kept a lean machine frame. The hardest singer to duplicate from that era for me is, Gary Puckett especially "This Girl's A Woman Now" from 1969....the rest of them are a piece of cake LOL like Cara Mia Jay Black or Del Shannon's Runaway I sang last night to ppl who were SHOCKED being 68!
