Bol has no shot at winning the 400 hurdles at the Olympics. SML just broke her world record of 50.68, running 50.65 in the USA Olympic qualifications. Bol is very good but SML is simply great.

She won't stand a chance. The hurdles is a difficult technical discipline. It took McLaughlin 7 years (!) to get to the 51.46 level in Tokio and it took Bol 5 years to reach the same level in London 2023 (51.45). SMU is older then these ladies. It is to late for her, she will never reach Olympic Level.

I've compared her picture standing some by side with Polands Natalia Kaczmarek, another world's top 400m runner, Natalia is considered tall but still half a head shorter than Femke. @@csteverice Nope. A.) Bol broke the WR on the 400 flat indoor 3x + got 2 WR's on other disciplines. And actually Bol is the greater talent! McLaughlin took 6 years to get to 52.23 in 2020, before she went to Bob Kersee. Then suddenly her times started to drop. But since then mrs McLaughlin only ran 6 races or so per year. Still she got injured. What does this tell us? That mrs McLaughlin is forcing things. She runs on power, not on technique. Hence she gets injured. Bol (who is very strong by the way) on the other hand runs on technique and efficiency, with her long legs and perfect running form. That is why Bol can run and win 36 races in a row in 2023 and 1st half of 2024 without a problem. If McLaughlin would try to do that, she would already be hospitalized. That is the difference between them: Bol runs natural and efficient, on talent. McLaughlin forces things.

Unfortunately for Fem, Syd is the same age. Once Syd gets done with Paris and concentrates on the 400 flat, Fem will have her chance. Then eventually Syd will run 200s, then 110h. Should be fun. I'll be in LA watching Fem win a gold medal in 400h. I was there in person in 1984 too.

Uhh... Femke Bol is not going to beat Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but that's just reality. McLaughlin-Levrone's toughest competition was at the American Olympic trials, and she blew away the entire field with another world record of 50.66. If Bol were an American, she probably wouldn't have even made the team.

Femke Bol has not got 50 secs in her legs----Even this year, she is yet to break 51-------I think she goes her PB of 51.45 in Paris, that's about it------She keeps getting slower and slower in the hurdles while athletes like Sydney, Anna Cockrell and Rushell Clayton are improving their PBs in 2024-----Bol might not even medal in Paris.
