I have the newest Elite and Micro models. i noticed that both of them charge with the cable they came with and DO NOT seem to charge with my other C charger cables. i don't know if they have a built in circuit that senses a certain type of cable before they will charge?

Great review! I have a Surge, it's definitely top of the line as far as multitools go. If you have the file attached to the Surge, you can still carry the saw blade in the Surge, along side either knife blade (there's YT videos that show you how, just do a search).

Do you know how to replace the lightbulb in this tool? I haven't figured it out yet.

Regarding flashlights, wondering if you have the same issue with EDC flashlight carry. I really love my 18650 sized flashlight with the bright illumination, but I don't love it for pocket carry. The opposite can be said for my AAA flashlight, it's perfect for pocket carry but lacks power. I love the options I have with my 18650 in terms of light modes (moon to super bright turbo) but in jeans it's not fun to carry. Just wondering if you have a similar struggle, I know it's a minor thing, but would love feedback.

I go back and forth between the leatherman surge and the super tool 300 i like the super tool 300 because it's all one tool noting to lose everything is one with my leatherman surge I've got bit kits and ratchet driver it's come down to what I'm doing that day i also like the leatherman bond with the updated blade it's a great multi tool for edc

Thats not at allcorrect. Overall swiss army knives are shit. Those are honestly all just multitools and not primarily knives. These are supposed to be in the Rucksack of the swiss soldier and not on the soldier in an pants pocket. You leave as an soldier the swiss army knife at the camp base and carry it not into battle. At best it is with you in your Rucksack. So it's not even meant for EDC or combat use as an combat folder. The swiss army knife is basically an Rucksack knife but majorly an camping knife in the soldiers camping site. As an multitool which happens to have a blade. I carry the Ganzo 729 which is an Paramilitary 2 type knife in 440C stainless and with 58 HRC. The swiss army knife reaches 55 HRC as some tests on YT show. Then for combat use the swiss army knifes blade is way to short. It is only a better toothpick. Even the PM2's 3" real lenght of the blade is to short to reach vital organs. But is has an axis lock which is my favourite. Then again the swiss army knife was meant to use as well as an field kitchen knife for which it is usefull to smear some butter on hard biscuits. To stab someone or do Kali defensive moves is an bad to worse idea with that slip joint. Even the locking mechanism of that Alpineer should not be very strong.

I am 79yo and ride in a high traffic suburb of Atlanta. I want to be NOTICED by car/truck drivers in Daytime and Nightime. I don't care if it looks nerdy. My safety is more important than looking kool.

The dimension of the smaller bag seems perfect for a small backpack, I just wish Vanquest had a padded strap attachment option. All of those zippered pockets seem great for organizing. Seems like I could tuck a fixed blade on the side, in addition to water bottle. Still using my Tekko 4, thanks for sharing.

You’re missing one more for comparison! You have a first gen wave 2nd revision there. The og 1st gen has a leatherman USA stamped plier head and a ton of wobble in the plier head as it’s missing the set of tensioner springs your 1st gen revision 2 has, also the og has no ribbing on the serrated blade edge. It’s cool to lay them side by side and see the difference even early on, before the new wave and wave +.

Have vx-1r. Open it from air band to 999mhz tx rx. Very handy. Only not showing freq on AM(SW/MW). As fir battery. I use 14650-14670 (900-1000mAh) accus. Only problem- u have to charge it seperatly.

I'm fan of these knife but I do t have 1 piece in my life because I'm poor don't have a single victorinox knife with me I'm from India no one is their to buy it for me

The light makes a ton of sense. Everyone who spends time in the outdoors carries a high power flashlight. However there is great use in a low power light for close up work that doesn’t give away your position or totally destroy your night vision. Along with all the other implements this knife has, the light was the final deciding factor for me.
