My προγιαγιά & προπαππούς were guerrilla fighters and only had a little Feta cheese and Greek Olives to eat. And they fought in winter and close combat-battle terrain with First World War, small arms and little ammunition and with World War I equipment. And they still managed to single - handedly defeat a far more superior Italian military force, and with out any Brit Ally or any allies support. Italian, Artillery shall killed my προγιαγιά ] Through out the Histories: My Greek family and my Greek ancestors have definitely never cease to amaze me. Even to-day Greece 2023, is caught in the hostilities between the Americans and Russians age old wars. And Greece is still the most loveliest, and most beautiful place in Europe. And in the western world... What extraordinary people you are, indeed. [ R.I.P προγιαγιά & προπαππούς ] This Comment is for all the Greeks, who perished defending Greece, from invaders. And for all the Greeks, who have departed, . Gone but never forgotten. It's an honour to be Greek, and part of this amazing and unforgettable Country and People. I salute you all. No other small country can compare with Greece in terms of impact on human benefit. In the beginning... God created the Earth, and in the light blue waters, put a small ship to travel forever, in order not only to give birth but also to transfer great ideas all over the world ... He called that ship...HELLAS! The Greeks created it, the Germans copy it, and the English exploit it😂

They rise and lower the flag on top of the Acropolis hill every day. From what i've heard the reason for that is to honour a Greek soldier who during ww2 and when Germans arrived at the Acropolis to raise their swastika ,asked him to lower the Greek Flag and deliver it to them and for him to be made a prisoner. The soldier instead lowered the flag and then wrapped it around his body and then threw himself off the cliff because he didn't want the Flag to be on enemy hands. That's why if you notice during the lowering of the flag and before they fold and resumme the ceremony the evzon wraps the flag around his body. That's why this spot is considered a part of military let's say ground (Like in military barracs when every morning and every evening there is a raising and lowering of the flag) and therefore is also guarded by the Presidential Guard. Hope this explaination clarrifies it to you and sorry if my english in not good.

@@arold4928 And then, you woke up. We were the first in history of mankind who created city-states. We were the first who created everything you can imagine and thanks to Phillip we were the first that created the first nation. Back then the city-states were Greek tribes seperated each with their own King. It's well known to all historians. Albanians came into the area the 16th century, after everything that happened. The first written down in Albanian language was from 17th century who came into the area from Albania in Caucasus. More or less same for the Slavs. Learn some history before become the subject of ridicule.
