Don't touch Microsoft... they are actively preventing people from working by somehow clearing Authenticator settings, according to support this has happened to "large number of customers". Your only hope is to get their data protection people to disable MFA. Only problem is a) they can't cope with the workload, and b) they've pretty much gone on strike because they can't cope.

And ps... the only advice the MS customer advocate gave was "get on social media and post it everywhere, it's happening to a lot of people and the data privacy team are not behaving as we would expect"...
