I was thinking how lable and store my left over drills and I came across your video and I like your idea here of putting them in one big glass jar I limited on room this is perfect I still have them in case I need them without a million containers taking up space I don’t have thank you for your video and a solution to my storage issues plus it’s pretty to look at. I just purged all my spares and passed them down to my mom. Hopefully shell do something with them. She's the queen of crafting in my family =) I did buy the full set of dmc drills from artdot and just keeping those. Basically starting fresh again after a 5 year hiatus. Ordered a bunch of kits from DAC and Evermoment. Plan to keep the drills from them. Any others I'll probably pass to the mom lol

I kept my extra drills till today 😂. I'll be purging them into a fancy spice jar until I decide what else I will do with them! Freeing up my storage containers. Thank you.

idid the same thing and i pit them in a mason jar , ffilled to the top, glueed it shut and it mamkes a nice colorful door stopper, godd for young kids to find different colors, i glued on 4 big jewel pieces 1 on each side

They never sold pre cut quilting fabrics like that in their store. I suppose it's worth it compared to overseas prices and if you don't want to cut the fabrics yourself. To me, it wouldn't be a bargain, I've make quilts and cut the fabrics myself, mostly out of scraps from other projects. Guess I'm old fashioned.

I live not far from Lorraine Fabrics. I've been going there many years. I had no idea that they did this. It must be how they now sell their remnant pieces. It used to be that they had two floors to the store. The second floor was devoted to "bargain fabrics". There were many tables with remnants of all different kinds on them. Then, around four years ago, the owner of the building decided to convert the second floor to apartments. There was much less space and much less selection. It's never been the same. There is only the one floor, and it's mostly devoted to bridal and fancy dress fabrics and upholstery fabrics. What is left of the regular fabrics have higher prices. I'm really glad I bought a lot of fabric from them before this happened. They have another store in Auburn, MA, which is at least an hour's drive from here. It's sad because they and Joann Fabrics are they only fabric stores left in RI. No bargains there. I seldom go to Lorraine any more. The last time I did, I couldn't even find the right colors of jacket zippers I needed to convert a couple of pullover sweaters to cardigans. I had to order them online. This store is like a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't buy a mystery box, especially for $100., that might or might not have what I can use. To me, this is their way of unloading fabrics that they don't want and no longer have the space to sell in their store.

I cross stitch, crochet,loom knit, I've bought diamond paintings but haven't started those yet.

Thanks so much for this perspective. I'm just starting and feel overwhelmed (and confused) at the thought of keeping extra drills. So I appreciate this idea that we don't really need to keep them, whoooo!!!
