Loved David Soul…. Some years ago he came up to Knutsford to lend support to Martin Bell in local elections… can you imagine how wonderful it was for fans to see him around town! Such a lovely man. R.I.P. David.

I had the pleasure to meet Paul and David (after watching all the series of Starsky and Hutch). I met Paul at Comic Con and he signed a model Gran Torino. But I met David at The Old Vic Theatre in London. I went to watch a Christmas showing of The Nutcracker with my Mum and some friends. I was only 18 but I remember the story like it was yesterday. I came down the stairs at the end of the show and saw an older gentleman sitting in the corner with a cain. I took a good look at him and realised it was David Soul. I said this to my Mother who responded with: "Samuel, you see any bald man walking down the street and you think he's your Father". I insisted that David Soul was sitting their by she did not believe me. Driven by a passion to prove my Mother wrong (and a few glasses of chianti) I went over to him. I spoke to him and said: "excuse me sir, you wouldn’t happen to be David Soul?" to which he replied with in a chipper tone: "well last I remember". We spoke about the show and I asked what brought him to London, turns out he had been living in North London for the past 40 years. I asked if I could have a picture with him and he said "he wasn’t quite picture ready". Anyway I wished him a wonderful evening and he to me. I went outside and my Mother quipped: "who was that then Sam?" to which I replied with "it's fucking don't give up on me baby!". He was nothing but a gentleman to talk to. Hearing why he did not go back to the US and chose to stay in England was fascinating. He was a sweet, talented man and it was nothing short of an honour to meet him. R.I.P David Soul, you were the man.

I had to pick up my girlfriend from work one night, but then that would mean missing out on watching Starsky and Hutch, so I had to ring her boss and say my car wont start and that I had to call the RAC so could they drop her home. Very bad of me I know,....but then again it was....... Starsky and Hutch" !!

I have so many questions about his life. Like how did go from shy college student to wild party animal How much of it was fact and how much of it was fabricated fiction. Don't get me wrong I don't hate David at all I just want to understand him more. I mean i know being naive is a breeding ground for trouble but I just want to know how he got into that wild scene with Andy Warhol and being a male escort. It breaks my heart when I see him in here come the brides i can't help but cry thinking about what he had to do before landing that role😢

Always loved David Soul and Starsky And Hutch and grew up with the series. But i also loved him in Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot (1979), based on Stephen king's novel (1975). I often wondered why he never or rarely mentioned Salem's Lot? I know he talked about it on you Tube for its 42nd anniversary, but apart from that i dont think he referred to it, certainly not in any interviews ive seen or heard. I often wondered if the Jeep Ben Mears drives in Salem's Lot was his own car? And were the cloths he wears in Salem's Lot part of his own wardrobe, or supplied by the costume department on the production? Great actor, still sadly missed! 😢🌹🌹❤️❤️🙏🙏🙂✌️

1:19:03 We were hoping for a 5th bond film with Brosnan. However, the producers decided to reboot and refresh the series with Daniel Craig Instead. Much like Brosnan, Connery and Moore, Craig was beloved by many bond fans including me.

david soul and david cassidy very similar rise and fall, DRINK a massive problem. a lot of 70s actors got ripped off by companies and also with money earned they just blew money away and mad too many bad personal choices like most people but it gets so much more highlighted when famous. very similar life styles these davids. a little comeback before the end

Starsky and Hutch movie I was terrible. I didn’t see it but I didn’t care to see it because I made it into a comedy not the original series didn’t have comedy in it but the movie was just ridiculous. Like I said I had no interest in seeing it when I saw the trailers for it. 🤬

18:33 - 18:40 Discussing the two TV cops' iconic Ford Torino, "Starsky & Hutch" producer Joe Naar spouts, "We started something in television that had not been done previous to that and that was car chases." WRONG. Preceding the show in the '70s was James Garner's "The Rockford Files" series -- that had perfected a certain Jim Rockford driving stunt with the private eye's Pontiac Firebird to perfection and repetition the stunt drivers, Garner himself and the directors [and eventually the audience] termed it 'a Rockford.' Over on "The Streets of San Francisco" executive producer Quinn Martin was not about to let those up-and-down streets go to waste -- especially after Steve McQueen's driving the streets of the City by the Bay a few years prior in "Bullitt, considered one of the greatest movie car chase scenes ever -- so Michael Douglas's and Karl Malden's SFPD detectives performed lots of street magic with stock Ford LTD sedans. That blooper was a careless boast by Naar. I would not be surprised if his two stars would have corrected him on that. "Thank you, 'Martin Derbyshire,'"
