I think it's important for men to view this video and try to learn something. Men tend to use excess tension, and rely too much on upper body. Look at this practitioner, and see how instead it's the opposite: Power is coming from the roots (legs) and being supported by a strong, straight spine. Then power can flow through the arms, like whips. I can guarantee you standing in front of her punch would not be smart, but it would...smart. lol. Great rendition of this famous pattern, I wish you many years of training.

I would like a video with the applications of it. It's hard to read those movements but they looked really dynamic and cool

I’m 15 years old, do you think it’s too late to start practicing martial arts?

Great question - It is never too late to enjoy the many benefits that come from training in martial arts! It just takes a step in the door.

This shaolin form is definitely the father and ancestor of taijiquan, indicating that all martial arts under heaven originated from Shaolin and Shaolin kung fu is the best under heaven.

It's pretty good, but the hands and wrists are not right. They are often in the wrong position and if you actually hit anyone you would damage your wrist. It would be good to practice hitting things with the fist palm and knife-hand, in order to understand how the wrist and hand has to be formed so that power goes all the way through it, from the ground all the way to the strike point, that's the only way to know. The rest of the body looks pretty good.
@marshalldragun3 жыл бұрын
keep in mind this is Ch’an Gong. It stresses power control and intention above any striking application. ;)

No offence, but thats why you better dont learn from youtube. The name of taolu is not correct, the movement is not correct, its done without understanding at all, the sequence is nor correct. This is a bad copy of a copy what master Yan Zhuang does for public show. And Im not surprised who tought you: the youtube master:) self proclaimed Shaolin monk:)
@BeyondKungFu13 жыл бұрын
No offence taken. Thank you for sharing - I am glad this is an outlet for your opinions. We are all on a Kung Fu path and clearly yours is different.
@tomaslapinskas46803 жыл бұрын
If my path is different and I am a student of Shaolin temple and did learn this taolu from real Shaolin people in a temple and surrounding villages and its so different, so what is your path then? when you learn this from vietnamies guy pretending to be Shaolin master in self proclamed Shaolin Europe? Just trying to help... you can refuse and stay in the delusion this guy sells
@BeyondKungFu13 жыл бұрын
No delusion. I have also travelled and learned at the Shaolin Temple in China and from various masters all over the world. My path is learning from different masters, looking for different perspectives regarding the art and sharing those experiences. Can I ask that you refrain from bringing race into the conversation as being Vietnamese has nothing to do with the discussion at hand.
@tomaslapinskas46803 жыл бұрын
@@BeyondKungFu1 Im talking only about this taolu. Have no doubt about your experience. Sorry for being negative, but recently a lot of people started talking nonsence about learning from the main Shaolin monk in Germany. Even here in Lithuania. He is not a monk, he has no conection with a Shaolin temple, he has no right to call him self Shaolin temple Europe and to be honest has no gong fu at all in Shaolin martial arts. As a result there are a lot of confused people. If you dont belive me you can email to Shaolin temple directly and ask about this case. Back to Rou quan - Chan Gong is the name of enother taolu from enother lineage. This taolu is mixed, a lot of wrong moves. Thats be course the guy never learned in China, most of stuff he brings is right from youtube, just slightly changed and very poorly performed. Unfortunately this is the trouth behind those talks. He is just an actor. But as an actor he is good:)

Thomas Lapinskas Your comment and judging is written in a very negative way . Even If some of this might be right. It s not helping anybody. But IT shows issues and Problems yourself is dealing with and i wish you overcome. If the people in the european Shaolin Temple learn something about movements and breathing and take benefits of IT ,its still more positive and more helpfull compared to your comment. The Form is still beautyfull and better than not breath and move at all. You could make a better Video of showing better or invite her to teach her your "right and better Form";)
If someone repeating the forms and moving externally and think this will help in self defense will make great mistake, everything hard to learn in the soft way is not moving as some dancers, it's moving forward with your body first and keep the internal engine working at the same time and to be able to move without losing it is very hard to learn, it's the opposite of what people think movements are, however the first thing to do is to learn how to rise the energy to your spine and keep it up to connect it to the back brain and then you coordinate with the feet, center heart and hands without using force, it's the real door to enter into internal medicine or martial arts, without it there is nothing more than simply slow motion external training and development of skills necessary to learn how to fight never get possible, so it's pointless and even dangerous, that is why we see people who think they have power and get smashed by others who trained external force skills everyday and even people without any skills will be able to embrace them, it's nothing more than delusional obsession of the ego and pride, the soft way is opposite of that and humble yourself to the position which you can not feel the power , so greedy and delusional cannot open the door

Thank you for your comment. Your point is valid and training takes time to attain a level you describe. We appreciate the feedback as there is always more work to be done.
