How much did the build cost? Where did you get replacement parts from? Looking at grabbing a 70’ cougar
@65Gamerguy3 ай бұрын
It took about 11 months and cost around $30,000. Most of the parts were from West Coast Classic Cougar.

I didn't have a Colecovision, sadly, so I settled for Thorn-EMI's Computer War, advertised as being inspired by the War Games movie. While some elements are similar to this, it's vastly inferior and its first person missile intercept mode is difficult to master. It's okay in a number of ways but it's not the masterpiece this game is. I should've bought a Celecovision, dammit! ☹

COLECO VERSION IS A EXCELLENT PORTS Coleco is more than Arcade version , Arcade is first place
@brianperkins61213 ай бұрын
The arcade game uses the very unique Votrax SC-01 speach chip that was desigened to reproduce Phoneme's and then add infliciton and pitch shifting to them to them , its not reproducing a digitized sound sample as the memory to do that back then was to expensive . kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmiqfYaHYr-FqtU

My friend some 40 years ago had this game, I vaguely remember playing it on a black and white TV. I remember the rooms with uncle same and the USSR hammer and sickles. What a trip finding this game after all these years.

We had this for our Coleco. It was a ton of fun and I would still play it again in a heartbeat. It was fairly hard to lose after a while. Or maybe I just knew how to win. Terrific game.

Ah memories. I remember the flying woodstove very well. Amazing creepy audio too. Colecovision was really good, so much better than the 2600. I don’t remember any garbage games on it, its port of Donky Kong was the best by far on a home system. Zaxxon and Mousetrap also took up many hours of my youth.

I remember watching my friend play this on his Coleco back in the day. Even back then we thought it was super weird. The cartridge/box art was also super weird.

That sound in the background would get annoying after awhile, why not just be like Donkey Kong where it makes sounds when time gets low?

I am trying to find a Sega game that I used to play as a kid...It was with a theme park, but not this one. It was a theme park with different little.."worlds" that you could enter, like a ghost castle, with dancing ghosts and another place with pirates...Do you have any idea how I could find it? Thank you.

I enjoyed the review. Next time would you pose turn down the sound of the game or turn up the speaking parts. I had to turn up the volume to hear you because the game play was so loud. I loved Turbo in the arcade. Thanks for the review!

I used to love this game as a kid. As usual though, my dad would always hog it up from us. We didn’t get to play much while he was at home. We would have to get our play in after school and before he got off from work 😂😂😂

As a kid, we knew of only one person that had a ColecoVision. When we spent the night over at their house, it was like visiting the richest person in town. :D

My dad worked for Atari in the 80s. We had many many games. Worst thing about the 5200 was it didn’t have a self centering joystick.

It’s a great version but those early levels do look greenish,am also sad that theres no intermission screen to tell you whether you got all coins in the bonus level whether or not,it also doesn’t tell you wich number level you’re,but other then that it’s a good port.

I reached level 13, but let me tell ya,it was hard as shit as the jumping mechanics,hit and colission detection just feels weird,interestingly enough level 9 is the pie factory stage,but man even that takes hell to get there,let alone beating that stage,phew🤣

I remember how i beated donkeykong junior on the colecovision back in 2022,it was hard as those stages do feel too narrow to move properly and the hit and colission detection just feels odd to me,also those jumping mechanics do feel odd as well,not mention the ackward control to be able to control the main character,phew🤣
