I am on the (9th) day of post Inspire implant surgery, I have had minimal pain,,,,more like a discomfort and the area of incision is healing very well. I put a large bandage on both my chest and neck area when i am taking a shower, then remove the bandage and just let clear warm water flow over the incision area. I am excited for the activation date in about 3-4 week, depending on my healing progress.

when you click the button, it has a 20 to 30 minute delay before it actually turns on so you have time to fall asleep. You set the amount of delay with your inspire rep and can change it at your appointments.

I have finally lost enough weight to get my BMI where it needs to be to have the surgery. I go Monday 11/11 to get a referral for my insurance. I really hope I get approved because I have a hard time with CPAP because I am very closterphopic.

Hello, thanks for sharing your journey, my AHI is 52 times an hour, and I've been off and on CPAP and Dental appliances for 3 years now. Not tolerating CPAP well, dental appliance has created horrible jaw pain. I have Tinnitus and Insomnia, and I'm a candidate for Inspire through the VA. I'm headed to ENT again on 11/9. I have spoken to several Inspire Ambassadors about their journeys. Question, is it a life/game changer? Do you sleep uninterrupted 6-7 hours? Do you feel well-rested and have more energy to conquer life? Do you dream again? Has brain fog dissipated and concentration excelled? So many questions.. Can you refer to any more videos and or blogs for reference? Thanks again, I'll continue to follow.

Glad it's working for yah. I had my implant done a little over 2 weeks ago and I cannot wait to fire this puppy up. I gotta say, my scars don't look nearly that bad. I didn't have a hematoma but I also took BPC-157. I've got zero discomfort, full range of motion and no pain. The team at UC Davis did an amazing job and I can't recommend them enough! As far as the scar chafe, the seat belt in my side by side is really tight and gets bothersome on a long ride. I just put a couple bandaids over it and that solved the problem. Car seat belts don't bother it at all. Anyways, it's exciting to know see that it's effective on someone who isn't paid to say that. I know it will work great for me as it is designed for the exact issue that is causing my apnea and a good doctor doing a DISE is needed to determine that effectively.

I’m at level 7 also I told my inspire rep it would be good if they had a feature which did a slow ramp into the voltage. Seems like initially it’s very harsh but usually when I wake up I’m almost not sure if it’s on well not so much now at the higher levels but it seems as if you adjust

@papagimels
@papagimels 14 күн бұрын
I do not feel it unless I rub my hand over it. And I don’t particularly enjoy the feeling of touching the scar. It has been 3.5 months since surgery. However the device does not protrude and you cannot see it even with my shirt off. Scar is there though. The sleep makes it all worth it.

Yes you do need to press the button to pause it which pauses for 15 min default. Or you can have Inspire rep change the amount of time. It pauses and then turns back on after the time passes - no need to press button again. I had them change mine to 20 min

@papagimels yes, I have tried to sleep with but I can't. Also losing some weight, I noticed it has helped. Every time my weight goes up, my sleep goes down. It was a nightmare for me, I couldn't fall asleep. My nostrils/nose would collapse, blocking my air intake and making noise and waking me up. Losing weight is number 1. Then adjusting pillows, I need to have some height, like a pillow and half, firm pillows. Using the Silent Mammoth device every night. Also 1 hr with the tongue device to stretch out. Good luck out there to anyone suffering from sleep apnea.

Got the inspire 9 years ago. I was one of the first 100 people in the US to get it. I had problems with it. But hot through it. On Auguat 28th I got the new model. 10 days in healing nicely. Did have some swelling and redness at the generator implant site. On Augmention for 14 days. Everyone will have some minor problems. With the original I had goofy issues. It's refined so much. No one is alike. Mine was done at Tampa General Hospital with USF ENT doctors.
