Beautiful I like the white lips. Do certain strains have smaller lips? I’ve never been a fan of the ones with large human like lips looks strange to me. Yours are very nice.

I always thought it was the dominant male that got the prominent lips. These ones still have some growing to do. I agree though, prefer them the way they are now.

I’ve had decent luck with clownfish hosting green sinulara. Looks like you might have one on the left. But that might be the more smooth kind. The fluffy more flowy one they like. Because anemones move and it’s neat for them to host something. They also host the brown version of green sinulara. I forget what it’s called, not kenya tree but the brown soft one.

Try the JBL stuff, it's a little more expensive, but because you can rip it with your hands, there's no need for scissors. I replace mine every 3 days, and it takes 6 months to go through the 1kg bag. So $65 for 6 months is cheap in my opinion.

Hi just curious why you changed to FOWLR, hopefully that rock gets some colour soon :) Should build up the rock a bit make sum towers/ caves give the fish bit more to swim around ? just an idea :). I had corals dying for no reason, I did ICP tests which returned no issues. Also the constant worry or losing corals was making me not enjoy it anymore. Ive kept all the same fish, and am enjoying it more, because I just don't have to stress. I'm still doing weekly water changes, but when I can't be bothered I just skip it for a week and nothing goes bad. I must admit I'm glad I did the reedf tank, because it taught me alot but I'm not looking back now.

I added some 'stability' from sea chem, but only because I had some already. And yes I tested ammonia frequently and tried to keep it at about 1-2ppm. Eventually it was dropping to 0ppm within hours. That's how I knew it was ready.

Beautiful tank my friend! Very clean and tidy. How are those sand sifting stars fairing? I've been tempted to get one, but in my research I've read they are a challenge to keep long term? Sand is nice an' clean though! : )
@seemsfishy50912 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I thought the same thing, I combat it by having a thin layer of sand (approx 10mm), the strombus snails and sand sifting stars keep it really clean. Plus keeping nitrates and phosphates down helps. I probably gravel clean once per month, every 4th water change.

The sump volumes are calculated to be considerably greater than the amount that is siphoned back from the sump :)
