Some epic trails… that I will not be riding on next time I’m at Ladybower… But kudos to you guys for doing it

Great video, I’m heading this way tomorrow, any idea where the best place to park is?
@2004jbrown Жыл бұрын
Hi dude, sorry for slow response. Hope you had a good ride there. Sadly some of the tracks aren’t running as well as they were back in lockdown times as there has been quite a lot of felling work and also some trees have fallen blocking a few of the good tracks. Hopefully it will open up again when there have been enough people helping clear the trees with chainsaws etc or TillHill clear some of the hill. I always park at Birdie Brow car park as that is my side of the hill and I always finish there. There are some good steeper tracks on the side of the hill with Blue Cheese. Just a bugger to have to push back up as there are no riding track back up. Good if you love steep tech though.
@HallMarc_Trails Жыл бұрын
@@2004jbrown thanks mate, we went and had a brilliant day, we found some crazy trails, mostly due to the conditions haha, we found the blue cheese which was a great trail, I bet it runs really well when drier? We will definitely be heading back there, I’ll take note of where you parked and give some others on that side of the hill a try, our group loves the steep tech, some more than others 🤣 thanks for the reply 🙏👍🏻
@paulriding2233 Жыл бұрын
Hi do you have a route for this?
@2004jbrown Жыл бұрын
best bet is to search for trails on Strava. Some tracks aren’t rideable after the storms last year and the amount of fallen trees. There are some good steep tracks off the back side of the hill if you like that kind of thing.

keep to the designated tracks

This was our first time riding the location and we didn’t see any designated tracks to my knowledge. It’s going back a while now, and I’ve not been since.

We got pretty lucky to be fair, no rain on Friday but tracks were a little damp and just a bit of the wet stuff on Saturday. Wind picked up though so jumping on A470 got a bit sketchy.

Hey Jamie, those runs look awesome pal. I’m near to Haigh and was wandering where these trails are. Found some good runs a the bottom of the plantations but having trouble finding the trails in your video. Could you point me in the general direction please?
@2004jbrown3 жыл бұрын
I’ll be totally honest, I was riding with a friend who was local and he gave us the tour round. I wouldn’t have a clue how to direct you I’m afraid. Best just riding around the entire place and seeing if you can spot any. They’re not that obvious as it isn’t actually an official riding area. Plenty of angry walkers that gave us loads of abuse.

Nice one man, good footage of the big gap.. still building up to this one 👍🏻👍🏻
@2004jbrown3 жыл бұрын
The gap at Greno is a very awkward gap to hit, all about maintaining momentum and being smooth. pump track riding helps a lot as you have to pump over the rollers and pop to get over the big gap smoothly.

some nice jumping skills there mate i go sometimes and them are not easy to clear
@2004jbrown4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy. I've been a few times and built confidence on some of the bigger jumps. The bridge jump was way too windy to have a proper crack at last time I went, I just figured I'd make the most of the wind-free conditions and just pedal like hell at it to try and get over them. Glad I did now :) Best way to improve at jumping is to keep trying and just make sure you do it regularly.

Nice riding 👌. Do those jumps flow well or do you need to give it some ?
@2004jbrown4 жыл бұрын
lopon12 Yes they flow pretty well, on the red trail M58 the first couple of tables you have to speed check as the landings are steep and I landed to flat first run. The more you ride the trails the better you get to know exactly what speed you need to hit everything at 👍🏼

Nice! That last run looks mega. Wheres it start from?
@2004jbrown4 жыл бұрын
Nick Kirwan it's on the middle Fire break road where most people stop before doing the lower section of the bike park. I believe it gets closed off quite a lot by people running the park, but some of the locals that have put a few of the none official trails in round the Calderdale area tend to open it back up when they can.
