I am not exactly sure. Tech ebony was listed under this guitar's specifications on Mooer's website. Maybe it's not even real wood but some type of manufactured material to look and feel like ebony. Or maybe it is real ebony. Great question, sorry I don't have the answer.

Same situation as me. I absolutely didn't need another guitar, but couldn't resist when they dropped the price to $63 on eBay. Mine played awesome right out of the box! Fit and finish was great too! I even like this one better than the DST-400 I also have!

@@toddr2375how were your tuning pegs. Mine are crazy tight on this model. For $65 shipped, yea, no complaints. But really have to muscle the tuners. New strings help this one right away.

I have 3 SX guitars (Strat, Tele, Les Paul). All 3 are basically good guitars, only on the strat the strings where not symmetrically running over the fretboard (high e closer to the edge), but i send it back for repair and now it's fine...

Tuners are an easy replacement these days. A lot of options

I agree pickups will definitely make a difference in tone. The fret board wood type might make some difference as well. And the body material might contribute to sustain. But yes the pickups probably make the most difference.

We do put it up very early. A lot of work to get everything out and decorate. It's kind of nice to be able to enjoy it for a while.

This guitar does have a nice tone, especially for the price.

Cheap single coils can be harsh and thin sounding. Pedals definitely can help boost the mids and bass levels

I don't have long fingers either but with practice and muscle memory more difficult chords on guitar will get easier. It just takes time and practice. Don't give up!

Schecter makes really nice guitars. I currently have a Schecter bass and at one time had a Schecter PT fastback Telecaster. Very good quality guitars

I have not. Never owned a Danelectro. The pickups on those guitars are very different. They call them lipstick pickups. Hope you can find one to try out
