Thank you for the advise. I will start incorporating that onto my rehab. I noticed my walking worsen when I move a lot. Working out is a challenge buy I'm committed. Thanks again. Good stuff ❤

I noticed this when I am tired and walk more than usual or as I climb the stairs. Thanks Tara, certainly in a daily rotation. Have a nice week.😄

My gait feels like I’m trying to grab the ground in front of me with my toes

For me abnormal synergy is everywhere. 1. If I bend the knee on my unaffected side the affected side knee also wants to bend. 2. If I bend the knee on the affected side, my arm also flexes. 3. If I do leg raises on my affected side, the knee likes to bend. I think not having foot and ankle movement contributes to most of it. It's like my brain doesn't know the difference between the arm and the leg, When I lift the affected side leg up, it wants to drop down quickly, I think that's the tone/spasticity. I also can't bring my foot up towards my back, so this affects walking also. Still working, it's a tough road but still going.

I am 13 years post stroke and still making some progress. I will try these exercises. I have mild foot drop and spasticity. I have an afo but don’t wear it much as it limits my ability to to do Zumba classes and yoga and Pilates. I find my gate is worst when I am tired. I think I danse better than I walk. Thank you for all these videos

I have Sjögrens syndrome and iron deficient anaemia. I am being tested for lupus. Some days I cant get out of bed, not for a lack of will, but because I physically am barely able to move or think straight. I have no energy. If on my better days I am productive or, gasp, dare to have a bit of fun, I pay dearly for it the next. This is all very recent and I'm frustrated and upset. I'm not yet forty and I feel twice my age. Sorry about moaning. Today was a bad day.

Dr Tara, my insurance aborted my rehabilitation after three rounds (I've had full rehabilitation for almost 2 years on and off) due to continuous decline, what should i do now, I have generalized Dystonia , I'm still getting tested for mitochondrial diseases (other conditions involved,) I've followed you and exercised in between waiting frim one rehab to another without progress, took your advice for reverse cycling when i informed you the bicycle kept stopping safety stops due to many spasms it didn't help unfortunately. Please help, your advice is very appreciated.❤

Thanks for sharing. Looks like something I would try out. My issue is when I sit my body shifts more towards my stronger side, no matter what chair I sit in because I have no foot control, therefore my knee and hip is weak on my affected side, so my foot doesn't plant on the floor. It's like my unaffected side is helping me sit all by itself. It's the same when I sit up in the bed, only my unaffected side is doing the work, my knee comes up on my affected side, due to not having foot movement. When I get out of a car, my affected side knee/leg goes all the way out in the air to get it out of the car. I try to do sit ups to see if that can help, but it hurts my back because only one side is doing the lifting.

I’ve just been diagnosed with fnd and I don’t believe it. My bloodwork constantly shows that I’ve got an infection or am fighting off an illness, I have rashes all over my body, I’m allergic to so many foods and so many other things. I believe that a lot of my symptoms line up but this honestly sounds like a load of bs.

I've just got released from my third inpatient rehabilitation, and my declining isn't stopping they've put down in the recommendation to follow PT and OT in local clinics..I've lost hope completely..I've tried many times and the last one is a university hospital with great resources...I've lost hope at this rate I'll be barely functional in 2 years 😢
