2:38 "Gotta be hard... Yeah, look straight ahead... That's the ONLY way it's gonna be... Yesterday's gone...That's a fact... NOW there's no more looking back." SUCH brutal truth uttered in such a poignant way.

This is the most '70s song. I saw them on the Schoolbays tour in San Diego early 77, if I remember correctly

I just bought Schoolboys in Disgrace on vinyl at a record store for only $10 US. It's used and a little worn but the album still sounds great. One of my all-time favorite Kinks albums and one of their last concept albums.

Great Song. But is this version really live? Except for the last few notes, it sounds just like the album. Also, their guitars do not appear to be plugged in. What do you think?

I always love the Kinks and Davies brothers videos and their music is inimitable and so great. The dog in this reminds me of the one in Phil Collins "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven".

I love and have always loved this album. Unfortunately, when it was reviewed in my hometown newspaper, THE PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE (or was it THE PITTSBURGH PRESS?) used the headline, “ KINKS IN DISGRACE. “

Heard this song a few months back on satellite radio. I’d never heard it before. I had some catching up to do as I lost track of the Kinks in the mid-80s. Beautiful song. Love the guitar riff by Dave.

Ray and Dave should just stop hating on each other and realize they both brought great talent to this band as well as their band mates, I say this as someone who grew up in a HIGHLY dysfunctional family.

John, please do solo music. Your music is so great and moving. Not that others don't have talent. But it detracts from your moving solo gift. I love you in Larkrise... and your spirit will sell much. I would buy anyway.

I like the boom mike hanging above them - but I love The Kinks better than almost any other band, period. They do not get enough recognition here in the states anymore, which is a bummer. But at least there's great music
