I was on this train. Superb run until she failed at Swainsthorpe with a hot axle box.

Hi Peter. I run a channe called The Imagination Station, and am putting together a video on Stephenson's Link Motion - and need about 15 seconds of footage of 44767. Is there any chance of lifting some footage, with credit? Ta. Neal.

One thing with the old gates, you don't get cars dodging the barrier! lol.

North Wales, might have beautiful lines, but getting anyone who knows about repairing vintage motorbikes, particularly around the Prestatyn area is a bloody nightmare.
Taliesin is such a beautiful locomotive. Apparently it was always well-liked by crews in the old days.

Why didn't this driver have a charge for the bank instead halfway. No wonder she stalled. Typical diesel driver. Incompetent driving.

In the early/mid '70s I had a summer job in the ex-station at Longstanton, when the St-Ives to Cambridge line was used only for goods. The crossing gates were operated by the train guard, so the train had to stop before and after the crossing. It was interesting to watch the operations that summer, sitting on the platform enjoying docky. One day I cadged a lift back to St Ives in the guard's van after my Lambretta bust a piston ring on the way to Longstanton.

Top notch camera work there... I was on the platform at Ely and didn’t get the benefit of the sound as she accelerated away but you captured the sound superbly. Great viewing and thanks for sharing.

Love it, thanks. We were visiting the area when the tracks were being done when our children were young,. Have been on the train 3 times. Took our son and his wife and daughter, our youngest daughter and her finance, absolutely fantastic, there is something about a steam train and the smell. 🚉

problem is that you have that stupid 25mph limit which is too slow and doesnt give the engines a chance to take a decent run at the gradient

It takes about 170 cars to see both ends of the train and you did a fine job, showing it. My regret is WHY you didn’t turn around and go back a few metres to the highway, where you could have photographed the train coming out of the upper portal of the upper spiral. I did that in a video somewhere else here.

Sadly this railroad is shutdown and closed. Had it's 46 run 1973-2019, it was shutdown on August 26, 2019 due to the power plant shutting down in page.

That was one of the greatest trainwatching spots... first time set out to find it I ended up driving for something like 3 hours from where we were staying up in Spruce Pine, and finally got to it coming up Peppers Creek Road from the south. Didn't even **NOTICE** that it ran up to the Parkway about a quarter mile past the crossing. D'OH!!! :D

Hmm Birdsong as we approach the Box for early-turn. Perhaps on a Sunday, with thoughts of a nice cooked breakfast and good coffee, as the first trains are dealt with. What other life COULD there be?

To hell with that - where's my big wheel? haha. We only had to that on the small crossing at Hilly Laid on the Wyre Branch. The rest were all Double gated. Smashing vid and scenery though.

It’s too bad that the viewpoint is obscured by a lot of big trees today, I shot photos and video there, many years ago (early 70s), when a clear view of the lower portal was available. Great video.
