It wasnt bitten off, barra outter gills have a sharp edge. the line gets cut if that part of the fin touchs your line no matter the size, from experience.

if ori spool yes if i load 10lb main line i will load backing half of the spool before the actual mainline, but now i bought the shallow edition spool i don't need to do backing anymore and SE spool better than ori spool
