imo it really depends on how well you know the boss bcuz while play rough is a main staple of her dmg, it uses a lot of her stamina so you cant fully rely on just that. 3rd smash does about 3 times the dmg that rough play does. only the allegro buff can play rough deal as much dmg as ur 3rd smash on a double crit. rough play is good to use when u dont have a lot of time to use any other attacks. you can play her how you really want to play her but as i am still kind of learning her i am finding different ways to weave other attacks in on bosses, so i can only give you a pretty biased opinion based on how i play her that to how others play her.
