Hi Josh! Found your channel bc we were having lights flickering and appliances throughout the house not operating properly… my husband talked to an electrician in the neighborhood . He suggested a capacitor. I read through a lot of comments and watched your videos & decided we needed to contact the power company to take a look because I was concerned about a fire. He came out same day & tested the meter and sure enough he found the neutral needed to be replaced. He explained a lot of what you have said and also said if left the way it was there was a risk of fire. Thanks for your videos!!! B

Does the neutral from the cutting off breaker still have to be connected to the incoming neutral from the main panel

Best advice I got so far. thank you. I'm dealing with the exact same thing with a new home and a dish washer that trips halfway through the cycle.

You are to far ahead of yourself in your videos. Plus, im not sure if i understood. You said they used imc and energized the imc. Thus, not using a conductor. What the heck are you saying???? Further, if they did use imc was it not contiuous???? Something is amiss. Your the king of omission. Dennis the menace of electical.😂

Why don't you go up and under the eave and then down to disconnect to avoid water intrusion and potential damage?

Hi everyone, any chance for some help? What could cause the kitchen lights, that are on a circuit that has recently died to come on when I turn on the stove, a couple other circuits have died too, one only has 70 volts between hot to neutral , but between hot and ground it's 110, I've investigated a dropped neutral with a multimeter with the old style (Edison) fuse box opened up, and everything is checking out ok, I guess I do not know what the proper test is to find problem. I always use new insulated gloves, tools, and shoes. The two 60's(main) two 35's(stove) the two 20's(waterpump, Washer) and six 15 amp(rest of house) fuses are all good. Please help, Thank you.

Awesome video dude! Just found your channel. I had a customer that was having random voltage spikes at there house. Found an issue up at the transformer and called it in to the utility company they came and fixed it. Long story short customer called back lights flickering again and as I was testing their main lugs I was getting random voltage spikes up to 190 volts on a single leg. Utilities came back out and by the time they got there it was back to 120v. Any idea what could cause a voltage spike like that coming from the utility company?

Common misconception: "phase" = a hot leg. So how is both a 240V circuit & a 120V circuit "single phase"? Phase is a hot-to-hot connection. In single phase there is only one possibility, A-B. In 3-phase, AB, BC & CA (3 single phase options) are possible, that's the key.

I like a man that thinks ahead. Unfortunately energy is going to be free, very soon. Wires and meters were never necessary. Just a way to know how much to charge. Along with the control we allowed them to have. No what nesara gesara is, BRICS is changing everything. Know how to think. Not what to think. Worst think you could ever give any inspector, is a badge. I feel sorry for what electricians have gone through.

When I hear "It was 75 yesterday and 15 and snowing today" I thought, huh, sounds like Colorado! Thanks for this video, trying to diagnose flickering in my house and have already gone through a bunch of stuff and still scratching my head. Something like a vacuum starting up on one circuit will cause lights to dim on a different circuit, even with "flicker free" LED bulbs.

2 prong receptacles must be replaced with gfci receptacles and labeled "not grounded" whenever new 2 prong receptacles are not available per code. Cheap house flippers won't spend the $10 even though the GFCI becomes a selling point, and all downline receptacles are protected as well. New code may want AFCI/GFCI combos now.

You did not even show how it was wired. From panel to terminal blocks then to the unit.

To be fair, LG should have made that internal wire be white, so the correct thing to do would have been a little more obvious. The wire needs to be moved from under the screw bonding it to the frame and attached to the neutral terminal (where the white wire ends from the cord). It has to be attached to the neutral, it can't be just left taped off, because the dryer likely has some 120v loads (timers and such). It is amazing to me that the outdoor service panel bus was left hot and unattended by the electrician while he went inside the house. I could see leaving the panel open for a few minutes if it was indoors with access to the area controlled, or if an adult was guarding it, but in this situation any curious neighborhood child able to reach that nice shiny bus could be killed. If I was the professional liability insurer and saw this video, I'd revoke the policy. This whole thing is just too much.
