Why are we going into the back leg that confused me
@knittingforbaby11 сағат бұрын
I’m a continental combination knitter. Continental combination knitting differs from standard continental knitting in how you form and position your stitches. Here’s an overview: 1. Continental Knitting (Standard): • The yarn is held in your left hand, and you “pick” the yarn through the loop using the needle. • The stitches are typically oriented with the front leg of the loop closer to the tip of the needle. 2. Combination Knitting: • You hold the yarn in your left hand, like continental knitting, but the purl stitches are wrapped in the opposite direction. • This changes the orientation of the stitches, with the back leg of the loop being closer to the tip. • As a result, when knitting, you adjust by inserting the needle into the back leg to ensure the stitches remain untwisted. The main difference lies in the stitch orientation and how you wrap the yarn during purling. Combination knitting can result in a more even tension for some knitters, especially if you struggle with tight or uneven purl rows. It’s a great method for minimizing hand strain and often works well with specific patterns, particularly ribbing or lace.

Hello! Thank you for this perfect tutorial! I have to understand correctly... if I want the cardigan to be from 3-6 months, then I only need to go up in needle size? And I don't have to add more stitches?
@knittingforbaby5 күн бұрын
Yes thats correct. The size of the needle will determine the final size.

Your instructions are probably the most clear and concise instructions that I have ever seen in a youtube video for knitting! Wow, you are very thorough! I appreciate this video, as I have only done blankets and scarfs. I signed up to make 30 hats for my daughters school market next month and your video is amazing! I wish I had stumbled across your video when I first learned a few months back! Edit to add: her school market is for the kids and nothing costs more than $3 (it is not a farmers market or anything like that. It is a fundraiser for their end of year trip... I hope that is ok lol)

Hello If I have 150 stitches total How should I divide Can you plz let me know I can proudly say that make as following you But I need little bit bigger
@knittingforbaby16 күн бұрын
You can try 25 sts for each front panel, 30 sts for each sleeve and 40 stitches for the back. Make sure to add a minimum of 3 sts under each sleeve depending on the size you’re making. If the sleeves look too small then add one stitch at the beginning and at the end too. I hope this helps.
