Is this how people all used to do it before stirrups?

I understand stirrups were pretty much unheard-of until the Middle Ages, anyway (take a look at an equestrian statue of Alexander the Great), so I was very interested to see a rider get on without them! Thanks.

Great tip. Now I know what to do with the old case for my Leatherman Tool since I bought a much better case for it. It should do the job just fine for a bic lighter on my saddle.

Why does the video end before you? Short and sweet is fine, but I was hoping for an explanation of WHY you would want a ring on your saddle strings.

Maybe for a breast collar?
@Chugwater_Cowboy Жыл бұрын
@@EmmaVeelle I suppose you could snap just about anything you wanted there, like a water bottle with a snap hook or a carabiner. But I'd never hook a breast collar that high or to a small piece of leather that light - it'd never hold when you need it to. Breast collars need to hook lower to the D-ring rigging. Some saddles even have a double D-ring there just for that purpose. A breast collar that high will not be holding the saddle against the horses breast but against his neck and wind pipe - not a good place.
@EmmaVeelle Жыл бұрын
@@Chugwater_Cowboy I know. I wouldn't put my breast collar there either. It was just a thought on if he was using this for that or not. I understand what you are saying, and I completely agree.

That’s great unless you are showing a reined cowhorse I seen a competitor going to circle a cow the cow stuck it’s head through the lead rope and he was tied to the saddle horn lucky his horse was well broke but it could have been bad I always put the lead rope through my belt not tired but so it can pull out if it needs to

This is lunging, circling, and round penning. They are the same.

WHAT IS THE DIFERENCE BETWEEN LUNGING AND CIRCLING, PLEASE, IS THE SAME? AND ROUND PENNING?
@samequestrian43765 жыл бұрын
They are the same. People just call them different things.
