Fun lesson! I painted along and will share on Mix when everything dries. I'll miss these classes and hope someday we can do something similar again.

I finally had a chance to watch this. Again, more fantastic journaling ideas and suggestions. I will definitely miss the boxes but am glad the community will keep going. If I could, I’d get you a baby crow for Christmas, Dr. Erin! Thank you, Sarah and Dr. Erin for everything. ❤

I'm looking forward to the next videos in this series! I'm also looking forward to trying the Daniel Smith Extra Fine that I got in the box, that is one of my dream paint brands and I've been wanting to dabble with them for a while now.

I caught this late but it was still an interesting "draw with me." I absolutely love that Uni Pin brush pen, and I hope ArtSnacks sells it soon. There's only one other place I found to buy it, Pen Guru, and they are overseas! (Britain I think)

Does anyone have knowledge on if/when the freestyle vid comes? I love those videos. Also I hope one day I'll have enough money for an artsnacks box, they seem right up my ally. But I'm in Europe so I need to save much more for shipping costs and all 😩

Very cool. I have a question about the different tip thicknesses. If its the distance between the lines that indicate shading and depth, why wouldn't you just build them up with a single small pen rather than going up in size? Is it a time/efficiency thing? Also, I have this theory that pen thickness is analogous to pencil pressure - that smaller tipped pens would be similar to light pencil marks, and that larger tips would be similar to heavier pencil marks. Is this in anyway accurate? Thanks again for the video. :)

Great idea and approach. Now I am mad at myself for looking for tips AFTER I created 24 oblong boxes on my swatch chart. While embodying the definition of “infant artist,” I congratulated myself in remembering the importance of swatching supplies. So, when I unearthed an old package of watercolor pencils and played with them a bit, I decided I should go ahead and swatch them. I “thought” I knew to start with creating my 24 oblong boxes and I wanted to look up the best way to swatch the pencils when I found your channel and idea. Now, I am seriously contemplating tossing out my started swatch sheet and switching to the quilt cube concept. This concept will absolutely be attempted on my next swatch. Thank you for helping me see “outside of the box.” Wow, this just looks stunning.
