To corrupt a quote from MES; "David Thomas and your grandma' on bongos is Pere-Ubu" but, then again, this is one of the finest Ubu line ups I've ever heard!

This has always been one of my favorite Pere Ubu songs. It has a deep creepiness to it, but still manages to be melodic and powerful.

Don't usually go see bands from the way back, but they were so fuckin good when I saw them @ Slims in SF a few years ago. I was dancing with total joy, but since I'm pretty big 6"4 285#, people were looking at me really weird. Like what are you supposed to do around such brilliance. Maybe sketch the band like at a museum, but other than that, fuck off!

What does David Thomas exactly say at the beginning of this video? I can't recognise all of the words... What I do, perhaps incorrectly, understand is this: "Back in 1975, Cleveland had the second largest population of [...] outside of China, and at that time the Chinese damn communists [...] had them bombs, [...] that radiation float(ed) across the North Pole and [...] directly to Cleveland, Ohio. I thought there was something in this. I thought this was a metaphor. I thought this was a sort of a metaphor for the man-woman relation[...]ship". Can anybody fill in the gaps for me? Thanks a million for your help!
