The reliability of the bike really depends on the previous owner. Back in the 90s, I bought Ducatis, and while everyone said they weren't reliable, I managed to get 42K miles out of my 748. They were admittedly a pain to maintain, with most of the issues being electrical due to poor insulation of the wiring from the elements, as well as some challenges with the rear hub because of the single-sided swingarm. In terms of the RSV4, I believe the sweet spot in the U.S. is the 2017-2020 models, which feature the 201hp motor. They updated the valve train and reinforced the rods in those years, addressing some of the earlier issues. The 2009 models were prone to engine failures, and the 2009-2016 models had valve train problems. Additionally, the 2009-2014 models suffered from stator and rectifier issues. As for my 2018 RSV4 with 25K miles, it has been incredibly reliable, much more so than any Ducati I’ve owned.

Heard the same things over and over and over which is why I passed on the STRR What is worse is everyone says it is ergonimically a torture rack and one triumph did nothing to help anyone remedy as they left zero control lone slack to assomodate higher bars which would not matter cause they left no clearance with the fairing anyway....whoever was in charge of the project really abused the pooch to say it more PG The whole thing is a shame because it COULD easily has been soooo good

Which one has the more comfortable riding position. Which has been the most reliable thus far between your Aprillia and BMW?
@Porschemovies
@Porschemovies Жыл бұрын
Well the Aprilia has been set up to be most comfortable for me, for example, the pegs are down and back and I wear a boot that has a 2.5in lift in it because I have a 30in inseam and need it to touch the ground, so if you got long legs short torso then aprilia will fit you nicely because the bars a bit back towards the rider. The Aprilia is heavier and takes more effort to change direction which makes it stable but over time more fatiguing. The BMW I'm changing the pegs like the aprilia and might get Heli bars because it's got my back at an odd angle and it's uncomfortable but I'll sort that out. Reliability Well I had the Aprilia for 6 years and it's super reliable the only thing I need to fix outside of maintenance is gear position sensor. So far no real issues with BMW but I only had it one year and only have 6500 miles only issue is my oem rear lights blink and throw a code I can take it in for warranty but I'll end up ordering a tail tidy kick. Also I had a bad front tire and BMW did not have any weights on the wheels when they delivered the back so I had to get that sorted.

Recently restored a euro spec 996S. What a sensory, analogue experience it is. As quick as you could ever want on the road, and boy does it turn now I’ve had the suspension properly set up (by an ex Ducati race engineer). Put Metzeler M9RR tyres on - much sharper profile than S22s - that might be part of what you’re experiencing with your slower turn in (shallower profile). I’ve got S22s on my CBR1000RR and they do slow down the initial turn in but are SO stable at full lean. Really nice for track. Great vid! My wrists couldn’t deal with mine long distance though 🤣
@Porschemovies
@Porschemovies Жыл бұрын
I have the Metzeler on my S1000rr not in love with that brand, The turn is slow compared to my 20 GSXR 1000 and 22 S1000rr so that's what I'm comparing it to in my head. Yes you can ride the nuts off of it on the road where my RSV4 and S1K will land me in jail.

Nice vídeo Man. I see what you’re saying:- As we achieve a certain age, we come to enjoy more the comfort and safety on this marvelous machines. I tested a Triumph 1200 Scrambler XC and it really ticked all the boxes for me, but I can also tell you that between that and the BMW r nine T Scrambler I ended choosing the last due to excellent work of the boxer engine with 110 Hp it rocks. It isn’t off road capable like the Triumph Scrambler XC and I’m talking naturally about soft off road , like gravel trails and roads of bad pavement, but on regular tarmac the Nine T is a little beast. Very beautiful and with lots of character . It moves to the side when you start it…makes me laugh 😂. It has a strong build structure like almost all the BMW bikes. One thing I understood is that the Triumph XC doesn’t have the leaning abs like the XE model and that was the final argument for me, the R Nine T scrambler has it and the XC should had it. It offers a lot, technology wise, excellent suspensions , extraordinary fueling, torque…so, it should have that safety feature, on this price tag. Thanks once more for the video, be well and enjoy your riding. That’s what matters most above all! ✌️✌️

The forged wheels are not 4 grams lighter than the cast wheels. It’s about a 1.3lb weight savings in the front & 2lbs in the rear. In rotational mass? Pretty substantial to me. Also, you can display the temp on the main screen if you just keep pressing up on the menu button, and it will swap out the gas gauge for temp, eventually.

I was all set to buy this bike when I sold my 2017 Triumph T120. It looked great in the videos but when I saw it in the showroom I was disappointed. It just looks so small and you quickly see that its just an RS with a fairing and some carbon bits and I already thought the RS bikes looked too small and so lack street presence. The quality is great though but I like bikes a bit bigger. So I ended up buying a 2022 Ducati panigale V2 Bayliss edition. I know that bike is not so big either but it looks just right. I also have a S1000RR m package which is just the ideal size for street presence.

That's what's awesome about Bren Tune. The BMW s1000rr has Wide Band 02 sensors so they constantly read the A/F and can adjust it so I can run stock header forever or just install after-market headers and the computer will tune itself out. I can even dump in race gas like MR12 and the A/F will adjust to that. Bren also has 5 different ignition tables once it sees the race full it will pump the bike up into another ignition table to take advantage of the race fuel. It's amazing no other bike has this technology.
