Republican lawmakers also blocked this John Lewis VRA bill from being brought to the senate floor for a vote. Ask yourself how come the Republican party is diligently fighting to preserve Confederate monuments, flags and the names of confederate names on federal buildings, schools and our US military bases.

Sowell is a brilliant researcher....and gaslighter. Lets put this all in its proper context. He's way smarter than me but when you gaslight, its a form of lying. Before the Arabs and Europeans there were no massive slavery institution in sub Saharan Africa. Egypt and the nations bordering the Mediterranean but that's it. Not deep Africa. Slavery on a mass scale was introduced to Africa. Secondly, slavery around the world was normalized. It was not against any custom or religion in most of the world. Neither the holy Quran or the Torah forbids slavery, they only relegate it and suggest ways of conducting it. What made the European/American slave trade uniquely different is that Christianity FORBIDS slavery by definition. You can not be a follower of Christ and conduct slavery. That is why Europeans and Americans were split on it. Sowell knows this. Europeans and Americans openly violated their own beliefs and religion. Slavery other parts didn't. The African tribes had no specific ban against it, Islam doesn't. Explain that?
