I have lived in AZ 40 yrs of my life. Every day, every waking minute I feel so privileged and blessed to be able to call this state my home. It is breathtaking. While I have traveled and discovered most of it, there is yet so much more I have to see. Btw, best sunsets in the lower 48 by far. The desert is magnificent!
@mid.lifeadventurer4 сағат бұрын
What's funny is that I lived in Phoenix for a year when I was in college there (SO much has changed in that area!) but visiting there now and exploring different areas, I definitely appreciate and notice things so much differently! And yes, the sunsets were incredible! Especially in Saguaro NP against the tall cacti... breathtaking!

you need to see the north rim of the grand canyon but it closes during the winter months due to snow depths and dont listen to google if you go ther there is one road in and one road out.. also should check out arizonas best kept secret the white mountains of arizona best in summer due to altitude but lakeside/pinetop and plqcee like greer Arizona's highest altitude city actually a town along with alpine and hannagan meadow best area for camping or van lifers to stay that want to be secluded and away from crowds.. thers plenty of hiking, biking & atv trails and even some working ranch's you can stay at just be prepared because the guests are ther for the working on a ranch experience so while i dont think working ther is a must you might wanna check all the towns up there have especially in pinetop on thru to showlow has all the same stores as regular cities have and the restraunts up ther in every town have the best food whether you crave a steakhouse or authentic mexican food they have a restraunt for pretty much any cuisine you can think of and everyone is so nice and helpful if you need help funding something cuz still has its small town hospitality which hasn't been lost thru out all of the white mountains

Check out the Mogollon Rim next time. Head up from Payson to Forest Lakes for a scenic drive. Tons of camping, hiking, lake activity, and crazy long distance views. You can head over to Payson from the Cottonwood area on 17. You'll pass through the quaint towns of Strawberry and Pine which you'd never believe are in Arizona. Trees and stuff.
