Convoy was Sam Peckinpah response to Hal Needham Smokey and the Bandit and I love this movie and Smokey and the Bandit was the first movie I watched

Times were a lot more fun before the attorneys got their hands into everything.

Would a Convoy back then REALLY cause a bunch of drama, or was this a "only in the movies" situation?

This is one of my Dad's favorite movies. Many great memories watching this with him.

Love how dirty Lyle redeemed himself at the very end because we all really love him, he let the rubber duck go and laughed because he was happy to see him alive🤣

Borgnine was the best actor in this movie by a solid distance. Made this role far more than it would've been.

It would have been funny after Duck gives Lyle the thumbs up, Lyle gave it back.

For all RD and Lyle's differences, they knew where they stood with one another, Haskins was playing both sides for his own gain, and the fact that the truckers ended up screwing him over brought him some satisfaction.

In the end Dirty Lyle saw through all the BS and the attempted political commandering the Governor and the media were trying to do. Pig Pen leaving really threw a wrench in the whole game plan

This was the only time Borgnine was convincing as a bad guy. He always struck me as a jolly sort of guy.
