일본애들이 이것을 왜 자기들거라고 그러는지 모르겠다. 자기네 전통장부라고 한다. 그런데 정작 제비촉이나 삼방연귀를 이용한 과거의 작품을 일본에서 찾아볼수 없다. 우리는 조선시대 양반집 서가의 기본 가구가 아니었던가. ㅎ 그놈들 참 연귀는 연구, 즉 제비입이라는 뜻이다. 처음에는 연구라고 부르다가 글을 모르는 옛날 소목쟁이들이 마구부르다가 바뀌게 된것이다. 저 제비촉이 45도 즉. 제비 부리를 닮아서 제비촉이라 부르는것이다. 그래서 제비촉을 traditional swallow beak joint라고 번역한것은 매우 잘한것이다.

Hi, I'm new to woodworking and obviously still learning, but why did he use the handplane after the table-top glue up? Ive never seen anyone do it before

probably to remove the excess from the glue itself. also, it may leave a tiny gap between the assembling parts even tho it's precisely measured

after a glue up you always use a handplane or machine plainer because a glue up is never 100 percent perfect. even if one part lies 0.1 mm higher than the other you will still feel an edge. if you plane after a glue up your multiple pieces will feel as if its one piece
