Returning to the CVR tomorrow. Last visit 9 years ago. Used to visit quite regularly between 2010 and 2015. Disappointed that it is not longer possible to get on the train at Cheddleton southbound to KF and then walk along the canal towpath back to the Black Lion at Consall, have a few drinks, and then catch a train back to Cheddleton. Timetable is a shadow of its former self. 😕

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 and he is overjoyed whenever a once removed railroad track is rebuilt and used again it is one of his dreams for removed railroad tracks 🛤 to be rebuilt and used again.

I thought trains weren’t supposed to go that way on the CVR yet because the track didn’t yet reach Leek 🤔

There were explosions💥 underneath the loco!

They are called detonators they are normally carried by a guard so that incase a locomotive stops on a line and needs assistance the guard will put detonators on the track behind the locomotive so that any locomotive behind will know that there is an engine stationary ahead very very important pieces of kit

@@transportguy1k635 yes and no they are to notify the driver that there may be an obstruction ahead so therefore he must control the train and be ready to stop in other words proceed under caution

This is the first section of relaid track. Fundraising for the rest is ongoing through events like the triple USATC S160s train on Saturday the 26th Oct 19 for just £20 per adult all day. These funds will go towards new track laying to reach a new proposed station at a large redevelopment in Leek.
