Two things keep drawing me back to this film. Louise Fletcher at her most hateful and terrifying. And Christopher Young's BEAUTIFUL SCORE

This is what I remember when I think of the Movie, this extremely deep and haunting sound track of a movie that I saw when I was probably too young, but has stuck with me all these years. A Timeless sound track.

@0:27 to 0:59 “We finally had our real revenge. We managed to make it on our own. I got a job to help put Chris through medical school. Little Carrie grew up, but she was never truly healthy. I even started dancing again. We left the past behind, all except the memories of mother, grandmother, and the attic. I sometimes wonder if grandmother is still alive, still presiding over Forworth Hall, still awaiting my return.” - Older Cathy (Clare Peck) closing narration Or “All during the time we stayed at Foxworth Hall, we told ourselves that it was the barred windows and locked doors that kept us from leaving. But it wasn’t. It was our love for mother. Loving her had held us prisoner. Cory was gone, and we didn’t know then if the poison that took his life would take ours as well. But we made a promise to each other. For as long as we lived, we would never look back. For as long as we lived, we would live free.” - Cathy (Kristy Swanson) closing narration from the deleted original ending

After actually watching the movie itself, its a tad disappointing, the score wanted to be super scary and creepy than it actually is

Observing the flowers in the attic for so many years, after all these years. I still get goosebumps from this flower in the attic. This is evidence of the cast's and director's inventiveness.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🇬🇾🇬🇾

Would love to know the woman who did the vocals. Her voice has been in my head since this movie came out. I was 6 years old then

Vielleicht die beste Version von diesem Album. Außerdem erinnert auch an den dramatischen Fall der Sylvia Likens!:)

I came from another video about an old school fire alarm system in Akron Ohio that was in a old school building the KZbin user used this soundtrack for the video the abandoned fire alarm and it's was an old Autocall SA from the 1930s the video was done by old school fire alarms. Is there anyway to get the soundtrack I tried apple itunes but it's not listed under Christopher Young all I found was his more recent songs and albums but not this one you think apple itunes would have it but it's still not on the itunes store.

I have this movie on dvd and I have read the book. Both of course brilliantly impressive. This is one of my favourite all time movies of the 80s but its more like the phycological horrors of life and the evil that exsists among us. Ive watched it a many times. Very Sad and painful to watch. Its evil how the mother changed her tune from being the loving mom to decieving her children so they will stay and die in that attic. All because she wanted to win back her fathers love and acceptance because she commited a sin of insest. Furthermore, this film shows exsactly what people will do for money and for acceptance in all aspects of life. Moreover, it displays how evil some families can be. Exspecially the grandmother who was behind it all and had no love in her cold and wicked even poising the food aswell as the mother where the little boy died and didnt even have a deacent burial. Never took him to the hospital. From that I could see it was premedated. Lastly, this fortells alot of what is going on in the world today and it shouldun't be ignored😢. The music by christopher young who is very talented I love all his music in most films I have. His music is always emotional and it goes with the movies hence why I use this track to sleep.

All based on an actual conversation V.C. once had with a person actually being hidden in an attic so their parent would get an inheritance. The dark stuff that occurred in the story was crafted by V.C. though.

It reminds me of the story with George. C. Scott the changeling there's alot of similarities. Even though they say it was fiction. It could also be somewhat true. These things happen and are not unheard of.

The grandmother was more crazy in the head then evil, the mother however was pure evil for murdering her own child and trying to murder the others just for money.

The whole score was also used in the Argentinian famous telenovela "Antonella". Worked well on that show as well. It's a pretty great and iconic telenovela starring Argentinian mega star actress Andrea Del Boca.

This music fits the movie nicely. I had a grandmother that used to live in a house like that one. Sometimes when I stayed there, I would hear noises at night. Voices screeching, howling, footsteps on the ceiling, and there was also this soft growling sound that came from the closet. I swear that house was haunted! My grandmother was a great cook though, so it was hard for me to stay away, lol.

The most beautiful tune I have ever heard in my entire life!! It is called VC waltz, I love this more than any other song I have ever heard. I wish someone would give me a musical box that played this. I would cherish it and take it with me every where I went. Truly one of life's treasures to be cherished.

Like someone below me said, this piece reminds me of Erik Satie's work. I love how the notes go from a cold light blue down to a warm autumn brown sound at 0:55 and again at 1:48. That's the best I can explain it since I don't know notes or how to read them so I just associate different notes with the color they sound like.
