This intro makes me feel so weird but in a good nostalgic way. The weird visuals & ethereal music really make this opening sequence a gem 💎 Saw them live at the first Just like Heaven Festival in Long Beach all because of this show. Good times.

It's funny how Portland seemed like a friendly and quirky place back then and now it's universally known as a garbage dump. You see just how bitterly sobering the failure of the progressive and leftist experiment has gone. How many drug addicts and degenerates have swamped the city. I was a naive kid back then who moved to Cali and called myself a socialist. Glad I'm safely back in the south and now a centrist. Sometimes you got to learn from experience.

When did this era end? Did it all go downhill so fast during COVID or was it already sliding. Was recently there and it was pretty bad. Like rust-belt in the 70s bad. My friend’s neighborhood had been taken over by drug addicts, trash everywhere and parts of downtown were worse. It did not feel edgy, more like sad and exhausted. Oregon is still lovely though. Hopefully Portland regains its charms.

Son increíbles las escenas y diálogos muchos graciosos y otros muy profundos llenos de significado, pero para llegar a la satisfacción maxima al ver esta película tenes que ser argentino, imaginate si gano un oscar y la vio gente de otros paises, pero no pudo entender todos los términos o chistes, que en otros idiomas son difíciles de encontrar una palabra parecida. Muy aparte también esta el contexto histórico, y hasta lo pasional del fútbol para los argentinos.

The genius of the show is that it’s a heightened version of Portland… Most of the locations, extras and featured players are from Portland. Mr. mayor’s assistant was in fact the former mayor of Portland. Plus one of the statues featured in this sequence is where the show gets its name from. I think the appeal of the show is that the line between portraying fantasy and the actual Portland is very gray.

This song man I use to watch this show all the time with my dad, all these years later and same old feeling still have their way of coming back around every once and a while.
