In 1977 Victoria Vetri arrived at the Victoria Station restaurant in Studio City to start her bartending job. I had the pleasure of being assigned to train her, though she didn't need any training. One night she took me out in her then black AMX to a disco joint and tried to teach me how to disco dance. I remember going to her apartment in the Hollywood Hills, where she and her boyfriend lived. I went with her to her post office box, where she checked to see if any men from around the world had sent her any letters and/or money. All the guys at the restaurant were jealous and had many impure thoughts, but our brief relationship was platonic. She was one of many famous celebrities and famous people I met in Hollywood and later in my long journalism career, which began at the LA Times in 1979. If she remembers me, it's probably as Stag.
