You can extract the gem, but the gem will have the restrictions that of the arcana. Unmarketable and unreadable. So if you take a candyworks Explosive burst gem from techies, and place it into a market bought TB arcana - the TB arcana will be untradable and unmarketable unless you overwrite the gem. If you place a market bought gem into a candyworks arcana, the gem will be still marketable if you extract it by destroying the arcana. So the only thing that makes sense if if you get a TB arcana or Techies from candyworks and want to try a cheap gem in it. Item restrictions will follow the gem.

Gold drop? IIt works for me, it's just quite faint.

Very unique gem and super safe investment wise, cursed black regularly sells socketed inside arcana’s above its value. The black gem looks awesome in the witch doctor ward.

Yeah phoenix items are particularly poor in every version.

Gold glow is definitely better but gold drop isn't as bad as I first thought. They do different things, some gold drop cosmetics are better than others and drop 5x as many coins for some reason.

@@Spalw how about for jakiro? in your video, the gold glow seems barely noticeable. the price is about the same between the two.

Creators light is definitely one of the few safe investment gems. It consistently sells for somewhat close to its entire value whilst socketed into arcanas. Most other gems struggle to stay valuable once placed. The list is very short but is mostly creators light, rubiline is the main one, plushy shag and cursed black.

There are three chests and over 27 items right now, and there are still two more acts to go. So I’m going to keep up with the very rare and ultra rares as they come out. Then release one big video with every item once all the crown fall chests come out. Because right now, you can’t buy the common items in unusual quality even if you wanted to. So having a choice based on how they look doesn’t really matter, and won’t until they’re marketable next year.

But if there are two or three specific items you’d like to see to check out, let me know and I’ll post them specifically for you.

Yeah these prices aren’t very reflective of their actual value for TB arcana. Any gem that looks good probably exists on the steam market already socketed into an Arcana and those prices are hard to track. So this made the most sense.

No. They all still suck. But some are definitely better than others, some items you can’t see the effects in game basically at all - and others definitely have a decent aura to them, and those differences are usually reflected in their market price. Generally, the physically larger an item is, the better the gold glow or smoke effect will look. So the small items like invoked headpiece, phoenix headpiece etc they barely show any different to the default items. But it’s overall pretty limited and I would stick to the frostbloom or snowdrift items if you’re looking for something unique. If you’re curious about anything in particular I can get an example of a specific item.

A combination of it being the smallest item in all of the sets, and the effect being a similar colour to his ambient particles and other effects it just ends up blending in from above, unfortunate and probably the least best Frostbloom in the game. It's at least reflected in the price.

Each unusual has three different types, but they are all listed on the same steam market page. It is dumb, broken and lazy, but it is how valve did them. You need to search for the Frostbloom quality unusual on the same steam market page, you likely have Candy Caster type. steamcommunity.com/market/listings/570/Unusual%20Claws%20of%20the%20Frostbite%20Dunes?filter=frostbloom This is a link to search for that type specifically, but also - people can use Description tags to make their candy caster show up on this list. So you must purchase one that has not been edited.

These effects do not use Ethereal/Prismatic gems. They are another system entirely and basically use "Quality" settings to differentiate effects. So you cannot modify them in any way. They cannot accept new gems and none can be retrieved.

I think all of the dragons hoards are bad, but not offensively ugly, the gold drop for example is very inoffensive because it's so subtle, same with candy caster. Neither are good but they aren't offensive. Frostbloom is only really good because it's so visible and in your face. It honestly looks bugged half the time, which is kind of cool. But I can understand why that can seem like way too much. Snowdrift is fine, it's probably about as far as these unusual should go, it's inoffensive but still noticeable.

They weren't tradable the same way as the patch before, and valve inadvertently broke source film maker in a patch at the same time so I'm not able to make the same video I did with Frostbloom the same way. None of the unusals are any good, to be honest with you. So I'm not that bothered about making a video but if I'm able to, I will make one as soon as I can find a method for doing it.
