Earlier riders get screwed by lower scores to allow a benchmark. Then they have no reason to put in a second run, as it couldn’t justify a 10-20 point increase for taking a foot off to add more to their run. I feel at a minimum, all first runs should be scored after all contestants have been. It’s not like Slopestyle where they all do the same line and see that rider X did a 360 off a drop, so knowing this, rider Y can get a higher score by doing a tuck 3 off the same feature for a higher score. Their lines and tricks are planned ages in advance. I won’t go into judges favoured riders, the colour of the energy drink they wear on their sleeves, or that RB is a media company and “boring” technical gnarly lines don’t buy viewers….. 👀 Brendog was humiliated, Godziek should have won, and TVS is an absolute daredevil.

Rampage evolved over the years and No, Brendog never learned he did this for years and nothing happened to him to get to the podium, he is not the judge, but them. This is the definition of insanity, he should have stick to racing, his run has only 3 tricks in 2024. He should reflect.

It would be so easy 1. No Sandbags 2. No Waterpipes on the mountain 3. No sharing lines 4. Only 2 Shovels an 1 Pick per Team 5. Only 5 Day of digging So you can built Trickjumps if you want that style for u run. But you and your Team had to carry the Water by yourself to the spot on the mountain. -> one trickjump to score but less time for an overall run to built. So you had too choose what is more importand. Tricks or a top to bottom prepared line. ->no Team up-> no Bikepark jumps/landings, because there is no manpower of 12-16 People to built those massive features. You can see Brendogs Team achieved big Stuff only by 3 People building it! -> big plus point, less affect by the wind at the competition because no 75food drop

Well, FMX had a similar issue with scoring the same tricks in best trick and runs high and scoring new innovative tricks shockingly low. This resulted in the fans getting bored to see the same stuff year after year and killed a big portion of the sport. Hope the are not making the same mistake here, people don’t want to see clean highway like lines with slopestyle tricks one after another.

Hot take - Get over the rock step-up. It wasn't that impressive, and the line to get there wasn't impressive either. Anyone could see and use the rock, its obvious, and obviously way too easy for a competition of this caliber.

I stopped watching the show after last year’s judging joke. And I will no longer watch it in the future.

The format of Red Bull rampage does not need to be reformatted. Instead, the judges should be more in tune with the original judging criteria. Rampage used to be judged upon line choice, exposure, tricks, speed, style and difficulty. The judges these days are more than caught up in the tricks. Which is quite frankly not what free ride is all about. Rampage judges need to stop judging this event like it’s slopestyle.

My suggestion regading changes needed to put Rampage back to the path of freeride event - It is necessary to shorten the time dig crew have for building. There will be more rough stuff riding and less perfectly shaped slopestyle jumps. Rampage is basically "flow trail" 😆 riding, these days. Totally different experience from what it was 20 years ago.

As a long time fan who did a lot of freeride stuff in the 2000s I think the controversy is a little overblown. Seminuk Def should not have won, I have him in 6th or something. I'm really glad tmac got rewarded for a huge technical send he did not trick, since the canyon he gapped was rampage as fuck. I have him 1st. I think Brendogs placing reflects the progression of the field. He placed better than guys who were getting big tricks of the price is right drop. Which is massive. The fact that multiple riders flipped price is right is insane because in other years that would be a winning move. So it makes sense that brandon would also have to do more to place well this year. His run was sick but the features were smaller than what others rode who scored less. So for him to go out and say he got "last place" is mad disrespectful to the riders who went massive and scored lower than him. Like if u go back and watch runs last to first u see that the judges did reward brendogs technicality. They just also rewarded other riders amplitude. Really they just scored seminuk way too high for a run that had missed variation on the last 3 and cases and no massive features, as well as the biggest moment basically being him flexing that he has oppo tail whips on lock. Like for the amount of oppo tail whips he has done doing one where he dies if he misses pedals isn't on the level of the shit tvs, godziek and tmac were doing. 1st tmac 2nd tvs 3rd godziek Only out to lunch score was seminuk. Not a sport altering catastrophe just a fuck up from judges who have done more for freeride mountain bike than we can dream of

yes, it was a disappointing scoring. but still, what an event, what awesome riders, and how lucky we are to be able to watch it. we all do mistakes, let's not forget it. l'ets see if nothing changes next year before making a final judgement.

I'm with those fans who are finished with this event because of the judging. Hope the RedBull producers and executives who were watching heard the boos raining down from the mountain and from the finish coral when Brendog's score was announced, and that the sound stays with them. It's the sound of fans tired of the abysmal judging over the past few years and it's the sound of their signature MTB event circling the drain.

Brendog was punished for not being a RedBull rider. Really bad marketing of RedBull.
