Thanks for posting this! Use to love this program when I was a kid. Nice to rewatch it now.

I remember watching these late on Speedvision, and the Chevy team was on another planet what felt like the entire season. Haven't seen any of these races since, but this was a fun watch.

I miss GRC. The first year of Nitrocross was fun, but nothing compared to GRC. That being said, the waits between heats were really long.

I started watching GRC in 2012 and would occasionally go back and watch some of the previous seasons as well as the years past and I always wondered why I couldn't find any footage of the 2011 season and now I know why. My goodness, the person who edited this at ESPN hopefully ended up getting canned. And as great as Paul Page is, the solo commentary was terrible. It can be done, but it's not easy at all. Was there a second commentator that was alongside him? Because there was so much deadair during the broadcast that it feels like they could've been edited out. Actually a bit surprised that the series made it to 2012. The decision to go live instead of taped really helped them out. It's a shame about Marcus Gronholm too. I wonder how many races he would've won if he didn't get hurt.

Man you have to really be dumb to not realize what a great series this was. Look at those cars, and look at the packed stands wherever they went. And Tony George thought sprint/midget drivers in n/a tractor Dallaras trimmed out to zero going in circles and slamming into concrete walls was the answer. CART early-mid 90's was exactly what American open wheel racing was challenging F1 and he wrecked it. RIP CART/Champ Car. What coulda, shoulda been.....

I agree with you entirely but look at the current Indycar fans nowadays, they don’t know what they want as far as proper sportsmanship in racing, they don’t know what is good or exhilarating and they sure as hell have no taste when it comes to American open wheel race tracks. They’d rather watch open wheel cars race on ovals till hell freezes over let alone them being all gung-ho over these new hybrid cars and the “diversity” of the sport. The real fans, or the fans who knew what decent racing was are now gone just like Champ Car is gone, or it seems like they’ve given up on the current series given how much politics it has engaged in. The people who run the show are the ones who ruined it for us, the people with all the money and with their new corny series they’ve created a new fan base of corny people who don’t have a clue about what they want as far as American open wheel racing goes, even a lot of old timer Indycar fans don’t know what’s good, or at least they don’t understand how time has changed and the cars have evolved into faster paced machines. Even though I was born in 2004 I still know for a fact that CART and Champ Car World Series were the greatest racing series ever established even better than F1 but of course the people in charge of it had to f*ck it up for whatever reason. There’s so much more to the split than what they’re telling us, so much enigma and conflict that led to so much confusion it’s a joke.
