Doesn’t ozone break down quickly? My air purifier has a hepa filter, then a carbon filter, and an ionising feature that only runs for 30 minutes (then it turns off automatically), I always found if I turn it on while dusting and I swear it made it WAY easier to dust, there was no dust flying up in my face triggering my allergies It all stuck together and was so much better Typically when I dust, the dust flies EVERYWHERE

Hey what’s a hepa filter
@himynameisryan2 күн бұрын
@@DayToven145 “hepa filter” is a very broad statement so that’s my bad for not explaining further I’m by no means an expert so if anyone sees I’m wrong please correct me But in general my understanding is that a hepa filter is a type of air filter that meets a certain efficiency level There are different “grades” of filter that meet certain standards

What about detecting black mold? I can smell it. Would that be TVOC? 2.5PM? something else?
@SmartAirFilters12 күн бұрын
Those are very good questions! 😊 Mold consists of particles, not TVOCs. If you can smell it, that means it's present, and in that case, it's a good idea to use an air purifier with a HEPA filter and ensure proper ventilation. Most mold spores range between 4 and 10 microns in size. If the sensor only detects particles 2.5 microns and below, it won’t register mold spores, but PM10 values can detect them. Let us know if you have any more questions! 🤔💬

There is no obstacle to perform a cookout after such a time. Someone in the comments under one of the videos wrote about a newly purchased sofa that emitted dangerous gases with unpleasant odors. Do you happen to have an air quality monitor? On our site (smartairfilters.com) there are 2 models that do, among other things, measure tVOC: (Total Volatile Organic Compounds). That way you will be able to confirm/exclude the cause, but you will also know how the tVOC level changes during the cookout. Let us know if you need any help.

Interesting, I kind of discovered this by accident and it’s good to know that it’s a valid method. I recently purchased and assembled a composite wood cabinet. The smell was strong to begin with, so I moved it out to my balcony. It was about 90*F outside and the sun was directly hitting the cabinet some of the time. I noticed that when I went to go check on it the smell was really bad. I was a little concerned that the sun may damage the paneling, so I moved it around a bit so the same spots weren’t being constantly hit by the sun. I’m happy to know that should help reduce the amount of offgassing in the long term.

The effect this method has will be minimal unless you increase the temperature a lot. Off-gassing will still continue after cooling down. We're also not sure if it will really stay at 0.1 (in your test) in the long-term. The off-gassing would take several years for the chemicals to be in the safe level.
@SmartAirFilters3 ай бұрын
Yes, that's right. Paddy set the heating to approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius). Research has shown that formaldehyde 'off-gases' 1.5-3 times faster in this environment. Of course, it is best to have an air quality monitor to ensure that the air is clean. The air in our office is of very good quality. 💪

Hello with your QP pro , which gas do you measure for tVOC , what is maximum recommended limit in mg/m3 ? Thanks
@SmartAirFilters5 ай бұрын
Great question! QP pro doesn't measure a single gas for tVOC. It detects the presence of a broad range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and provides a total VOC reading (tVOC). Low tVOC (under 0.3 mg/m3) is great, acceptable (0.3-0.5 mg/m3) is alright, but high levels (above 0.5 mg/m3) mean it's time to find and remove whatever's causing them. Aim for 0 mg/m3 for the healthiest air.
@thierryaubry39575 ай бұрын
Thanks for your pertinent reply. If QP pro provide measure different type of gases , it is difficult to aggregate in only one value , it is even difficult to provide quality control limits because each gas has different characteristics control limits!

I just got a new really large fluffy chaise lounge right out of the plastic and its in a very small room. We cant even go into the room now and it is burning our throats, nose and eyes significantly. I work from home so I cant leave. can I just shut the door, heat it up with a portable heater, then open the windows to vent...or do we have to leave the house for a specific amount of time to do a cookout even though its not the entire house?
@SmartAirFilters5 ай бұрын
Hey, it's best if you check what materials the chaise lounge is made of, but also contact its seller. The gases that are released during a cookout are dangerous and should be avoided for your own safety. Here are our various articles on cookout: smartairfilters.com/en/?s=cookout&searchblogs=1%2C9

@@SmartAirFilters Thanks so much for the reply. I'm worried does that reduce the sealing as without the carbon filter there is more space behind the pre-filter. The HEPA will be looser? Have you tested if that doesn't increase the amount of air which bypasses the filter through the gaps.
