A very clear explanation, thanks. I’ve just been diagnosed with ocular hypertension and put on carteolol once a day every morning. My pressure was 28/20 and after medication it’s around 17/14. All my tests and imaging show no nerve damage. I have two ophthalmologists and one says I can stop medication when/if my numbers get to 15. The other says I should continue with drops . I also noticed that my pressures are lowest in the morning and higher in the afternoon . This I believe isn’t normal . Maybe I’m just more chilled in the morning.

I decided not to get this because it's not a multifocal lens. You get near or mid vision in one eye and distance vision in the other. You still need glasses for one of the distances, cuz we don't have three eyes. I don't mind needing glasses at times, but the two eyes being different would give me a headache, I would think. Ugh!

Excellent explanations. I got the early signs of glaucoma, as visual field testing less than normal, and 25 pressure while corneal thickness already thinner… So, will see the specialist doctor. Your youtube here is probably the best I could find. Many thanks indeed.

I'm of the severe non-proliferative sort. Getting Vabysmo injections currently. Injections are honestly no big deal, super easy, barely an inconvenience. And they do work fantastically. But it is frustrating knowing that had i been more responsible with my diabetes, they likely would never have been needed in the first place. Is what it is and i'm glad there are effective therapies available.

Very informative video, thank you ! May I ask how do you manage patients with ADHD, does IV sedation work well ? I'm afraid of moving or not understanding the instructions in time. However, the idea of being under general anesthesia makes me more anxious.

Basically, I hear the doctor advocating for a healthy lifestyle. That's good regardless, but I hope no one gets the idea that they're going to manage their glaucoma through diet and exercise. Take glaucoma seriously and use the prescribed medications.

I've had floaters my whole life which have been steadily getting worse. Used to be I could only see them against plain settings like a blue sky but now it's just a constant moving constellation against any background. I talked to various doctors over the years about it; I was always mystified how they seemed to just ignore my complaints. One finally said yeah you can do a vitrectomy and I was like ha, yeah, nah. I was hoping there'd be a pill or eye drops or something reasonable. Yeah nah you're not sticking a needle in my eye and draining my eye juice GTFO LOL.

I had cataract surgery in March 2024 and the decision made between the doctor and myself was just doing the standard IOL. I knew in advance that I need glasses as I had a mild astigmatism and extreme far sightness. I was just so happy after the operation to not have to wear the thick heavy glasses I had my entire life it was life changing. What I wanted and expected were completely far exceeded with the vast improvement of my vision after the operation. Yes I still need glasses but that is for the near vision and I just got a pair of simple bifocals as the for the distance vision in the right eye is none now and the left eye a +0.25 Before I was in the +6.00 for the right eye and a +6.25 and a slight astigmatism correction in the left eye.

I had my cataract surgery in March and to say I had rather low expectations and am absolutely blown away with what I got. I was not a candidate for multi focal lens and I accepted the fact that glasses were going to be needed after the operations. I had extreme far sightedness with +6.00 in the right eye and +6.25 in the left with a +3.00 for the bifocal. What I got with the single vision IOL for distance no correction required in the right eye and +0.25 in the left and for the bifocal +2.25. I never seen this well without the glasses. I have a slight astigmatism but that is corrected with the glasses. It never bothered me to wear glasses that much but I finally after wearing glasses since I was 3 years old (I am 66 years old) can ditch them and when I am outdoors doing yard work and mowing the yard and wear just a cheap pair of safety sunglasses. This was a life changer for me to see this clearly.

I had cataract surgery 4 years ago. Had a very high correction 10 diopter with astigmatism of about 1.25 and reading . I have a multifocal toric lens in both eyes . I see 20/20 with no glasses and none for reading as well. Make sure you pick a highly skilled surgeon. There was about a 6 month adjustment period for me to see optimally. Night vision very clear with minimal halo around lights . I am very happy to be glass free.

Is a .5 astigmatism in both eyes warrant the $4,200 expense to correct? I want great far vision but it doesn’t need to be spectacular as I’m 70 and not a pro athlete.
